WASHINGTON — The U.S. homeland security chief said on Sunday he takes seriously a threat made by Somali-based Islamist militants against shopping malls, including the Mall of America in Minnesota, and urged people going there to be careful.
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson was reacting to a video released by al Shabaab appearing to call for attacks on Western shopping areas, specifically mentioning Mall of America, the West Edmonton Mall in Canada and London’s Oxford Street.

i suspect most malls are no carry potential kill zones. we can ignore the no gun signs in Colorado and conceal carry but other states aren’t so fortunate.
‘Shelter in place’ is the current PC lingo for cowering as an assailant butchers you and your family because you didn’t have the brains or balls to get a gun and fight back.
I just watch Jeh lie, filibuster, and obfuscate.
DHS is 85% self funded via fees and they can operate fine WITHOUT ANY budget passing.
Calling the enemy Islamic Extremists is essential in developing an effective plan to defeat them MILITARILY.
This notion that a jobs program will help distract domestic sympathizers if nonsense.
For Obama to suggest these Islamic Terrorists have “legitimate grievances” gives them much more credibility than would accurately naming them.
Here in Northern Virginia, Tyson’s Corner’s Galleria, an upscale mall just outside DC, with Neiman-Marcus et al, is a gun free zone. It’s right on the Metro, and just off the Beltway. A prime target, if the terrorists are serious. There is a large muslim population here, too. A few other malls around here also prohibit firearms.
I rarely go to malls anymore, but I never pay attention to the signs, and have not yet been asked to leave any of them.
When the attacks happen in the shopping malls and scores of people are murdered you can bet that obama and his the democrats will still deny islam had anything to do with this.
And it will still be “my predecessor’s” fault.
