Even though the shooter who gunned down Miami Gardens teen Trayvon Martin won’t face federal hate crime charges, the teenager’s parents vowed to keep his memory alive Wednesday through the foundation set up in his namesake.
“I will continue to fight for my son, for your son,’’ said Sybrina Fulton, Trayvon’s mother. “We here in the United States are under a crisis when our young people cannot walk the street, cannot play their music, cannot stand in front of stores or go to the store without being threatened, without being followed, chased, pursued, profiled or murdered. I just feel we have to do something.”

They only want to protect black youth ("eradicate violence and protect black youth.")? Yet the quote is:

And one can assume that the 20 college scholarships are not going to be limited to one racial group and will feature a broad array of people with different heritages?

Yes, they are extremely disappointed that they won’t have the time during a long, drawn-out trial process in which to expand their Death-of-a-Son franchise.
Now, they have to deal with a rapidly diminishing Who-Gives-a-Crap-About-Trayvon Sentiment. It affects the bottom line.

Trayvon was a throw away kid, left to fend for himself ... and he failed ... which is what happens to a throw away kid with no parental nor mature adult guidance.
Yeah, too bad that your criminal offspring, whom you neglected and allowed to pursue a 'gangsta' life-style, died while in the commission of a crime.

Yet the urban movement to establishing local “tribalism” is exempt. The neighborhood residents (tribes) look at anyone new and different as suspicious and worthy of intimidation and assimilation hazing.

Well, let’s see:
1. Stop having babies out of wedlock.
2. Marry the Baby Daddy.
3. Have said Baby Daddy actually help RAISE the kid!
4. Teach your kid a work ethic and some manners.
5. Keep them away from gangs and thugs.
6. Make sure they graduate from High School.
7. Make them EARN what they want in life.
8. Quit blaming whitey when YOU are the reason your kids turn out poorly.
Namesake? So then, they are not setting up the foundation in the name of their son, but in the name of somebody else with the name Trayvon Martin?
Having Zimmerman's actions being found justified at both the local and federal levels reduces the probability of success of any civil lawsuit against any of the involved parties.
They parents already got a million from the homeowner’s association.
