House chaos leaves GOP senators fuming

Senate Republicans are fuming over the House GOP’s decision to extend the standoff over the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), a move that they say uses up political oxygen and burns precious time on the legislative calendar.

GOP senators say it’s time to move on to other issues, such as the budget, trade legislation, and regulatory and tax reform.

They must defend 24 seats in the 2016 election and worry that voters could soon start to question their ability to govern unless they can move forward with a more substantive agenda.

The fight over President Obama’s executive actions on immigration brought that agenda to a standstill in February, as the threat of a homeland security shutdown thwarted other priorities.

“I just think we ought to move on to other things. I’m not sure how it helps for the American people to have the perception that Republicans in the Senate and Republicans in the House are at odds with each other,” said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

“We have a lot of initiatives I think we could show the American people we can work together on,” he added.

Senate Republicans say there’s no need to extend the battle over immigration given that a federal court in Texas has declared that Obama’s executive action violated the Administrative Procedure Act.

“Why don’t we just look at the court decision in Texas, declare victory and move on?” said Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.).

Senate Republicans say they expect the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold Judge Andrew Hanen’s ruling on the district level.

“When the judge ruled, that was the way I wanted to end it,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

Good! The House is not a rubber stamp of the oligarchic senate!

Good, with a little (or a lot) of luck, each of these GOP quislings will have their heads explode on camera.

What happened to all those campaign promises to fight Obama's unconstitutional actions and defying the Rule of Law? Didn't these senators take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution? Why should any Rep support funding an unconstitutional act?

:: a move that they say uses up political oxygen and burns precious time on the legislative calendar. ::

Because, you see, the concern is not how to govern correctly but rather, how to save our phony-bologna jobs (AKA: paychecks as approved by the electorate every 2 years).

Political oxygen? Give me a fricking break! The way they been acting, I'm more for them using up ALL the oxygen in their gallery, actually. Mostly a bunch of featherbedding old coots who never really worked a day in their lives. Scheming lying basterds.

All McConnell had to do was nuke the filibuster and send the House bill to Obola and let him veto it.

They won in 2014 to stop Obama's agenda.

The "ability to govern" doesn't just mean pass more laws, you dimwits.

All of Washington could go on vacation for a year and the country would be a better place.

"Government that governs least, governs best" - ya ever heard that one??

Stopping Obama IS a substantive agenda.

I see the senate’s point, but if you can’t even make a stand when the constitution is being violated, when can you? If the Congress lets executive amnesty slip through the cracks, then the damn will be broken and all laws....anything the President wants to do....will be done through Executive Action with the Precedent having been established. I don’t give a crap if the GOP loses the house, the Senate, and the Presidency, I want our laws to be followed....PERIOD!!!!

Here is what I think will happen. We have to look at what the supporters are saying. They know that by passing the bill they are passing Amnesty. The Obama administration will take this to court this week and argue that the house and the Senate passed funding of Amnesty and thus allowed this to become Law.

Why do you people think that they want to go before the circus after the bill is passed? They could not go before a judge before this passed as the courts would laugh at them.
Them the Uni-party that is in charge(LMAO) can say that they were tricked again into passing this.
Funny how soon people forget.

Arizona is one of the 34 states in King v Burwell, yet both of arizona’s representatives in the Senate voted against the interests of the state. The 17th has got to go.

Is not “senator” Latin for “worthless, corrupt POS deserving the guillotine”?

Come on, you know it fits.

Why not treat these vermin as such?
