Benghazi Committee Chairman: "Gaps" In Clinton Emails

ByREBECCA KAPLAN FACE THE NATION March 8, 2015

Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-South Carolina, the chairman of the special committee House Republicans created last year to investigate the 2012 attacks on a U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya, said there are "gaps of months and months and months" in former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails she provided for his committee's investigation.

Clinton's email has come under public scrutiny since revelations last week that she used only her personal email account rather than a government address while at the State Department. Gowdy said his committee has received 800 pages of emails so far, but that there are Clinton shouldn't be in charge of deciding what is public record and that he has "lost confidence in the State Department" to do so.

"They're the ones who allowed this arrangement. They're the ones who did nothing about this arrangement until they got a request from our committee," he said. He added that the public deserves a "neutral, detached arbiter" to determine what is a matter of public record and what should be turned over to the special committee.

"I don't want everything. I just want everything related to Libya and Benghazi," he said.

Both the Current Occupant and Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, though they may have despised Nixon and all he stood for, are trying VERY hard to emulate and even surpass the high art of “finesse of the truth” that did not play very well for Nixon.

Of course, he was not doing it right....

I think that's why Hillary has been out of sight for many, MANY months.. It's not a matter of timing and waiting to make her grand entrance into the race, SHE'S BEEN SCOURING THROUGH THOUSANDS OF EMAILS DECIDING WHICH ONES CAN BE MADE PUBLIC AND WHICH CAN'T.

She can't get volunteers to help her because she doesn't even want THEM to see the emails. There are HIGH CRIMES involving foreign government influence over U.S. foreign policy, including the hiring of Huma as an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood. The MB paid Hillary to hire Huma as their insider operative.

Surprise, surprise, surprise! They’re all a bunch of liars. The investigation must have been a farce. There’s no way I would let my children serve in our military with these Hucksters in office!

Hillary was famously seen here on an official trip to Libya---checking her Blackberry----on October 8, 2011.

Yet, no emails from that day were turned over to the House Benghazi Committee.

“It strains credibility to believe that if you’re on your way to Libya to discuss US Libyan foreign policy, that there’s not a single document turned over to Congress,” said Cong Trey Gowdy.

Gowdy has requested emails related to Libya, before, during, and after, the attack that killed four Americans.

It’s not going away. It’s only going to get worse!
Book comes out first week of May to stir the foundation pot
And after that the investigation into she and Humas connection to MB
Her decision to off Kadaffi ( a crime) instead of letting him leave ( where IS his gold?)

And on and on.

My, my, my.... How very, Nixonian, of Shillary.

"The now-retired general counsel and chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee, who supervised Hillary when she worked on the Watergate investigation, says Hillary’s history of lies and unethical behavior goes back farther – and goes much deeper – than anyone realizes.

Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy’s chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation – one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman’s 17-year career.

Why?

“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in an interview last week. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”

How could a 27-year-old House staff member do all that? She couldn’t do it by herself, but Zeifman said she was one of several individuals – including Marshall, special counsel John Doar and senior associate special counsel (and future Clinton White House Counsel) Bernard Nussbaum – who engaged in a seemingly implausible scheme to deny Richard Nixon the right to counsel during the investigation.

Why would they want to do that? Because, according to Zeifman, they feared putting Watergate break-in mastermind E. Howard Hunt on the stand to be cross-examined by counsel to the president. Hunt, Zeifman said, had the goods on nefarious activities in the Kennedy Administration that would have made Watergate look like a day at the beach – including Kennedy’s purported complicity in the attempted assassination of Fidel Castro.

Numerous exec branch officials, including El Presidente have committed and will get away with not only high crimes, but felonious crimes as well. The Hildebeast’s flip off to statutes which require a public record of official communications is just another example. This sends a clear message to political climbers. It is personally safe to empower and enrich oneself as long as the Left approves.

Congress is approaching irrelevance. Its lawmaking and investigative authority, which predates the constitution, is slipping away. The American people are getting used to it. There is little pressure to demand return to our founding republicanism and free government.

After a lifetime of dedicated voting, I don't believe any thinking patriot can reasonably participate any further in a system that stands against freedom.

I think you’re right.

Also, I can’t help thinking her stuff was scrubbed about the time she put together that Accountability Review Board to investigate herself, related to Benghazi.

They were dupes who never seemed to notice they had zip, nada and nothing to work with that had Hillary Clinton’s name on it. It was at her home behind the medicine cabinet where she keeps her toothbrush. Where her communications and emails were never occurred to them.

I believe it is a given that Sec. Clinton did not service, operate, or maintain the email servers herself. The first line of inquiry should be the name and job status of the individuals who performed the necessary task to keep the private system running. Questions such as whether they were actual government employees or contractors or were they paid by a private individual or entity. Did those employees possess an up to date security clearance and, if so, who issued it. If they were not properly vetted for security or were not government employees or contractors and were privy to classified information, Sec. Clinton is likely guilty of the same crime General Petraeus just plead guilty to.

Your description of this is exactly how we know Gowdy is punting on this. Somebody building a case would get testimony from the little fish. Gowdy’s committee hasn’t and has no plans to even though they knew six months ago.

The skillful use of the word “gaps” will make an impression. The DBM cut their teeth on the 18 minute gap stories during the Nixon administration.

Gowdy knows the power that word has and the curiosity it will raise.

Dems and the DBM do not want to go through two years of suspicion and investigation into what happened to all the correspondence during those gaps.

The drumbeat for Shrillary to go away will become stronger, IMO.

Not all his interviews is done in public. Committee members have been taking dispositions privately since the beginning Their results will be made public when the time is right or we’d have to keep a task force covering all public parks

the reality is though, she can’t permanently rid herself of any of these emails so this is in vain if true.
