WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Huge gaps exist in the emails former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has provided to a congressional committee investigating the 2012 attack on a U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the panel's chairman said on Sunday.

Republican Representative Trey Gowdy said his committee lacked documentation from Clinton's trip to Libya after the attack despite a popular photo image of her using a handheld device during a flight to that country.

"We have no emails from that day. In fact we have no emails from that trip," said Gowdy, who heads the committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. "There are huge gaps."

Widely considered the frontrunner for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, Clinton used a private email account for all official business as President Barack Obama's secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.

“I’d have da*n-sure put logging in there to a remote system. Somae kind of dump of skimmed info to hold as a life insurance policy in case some of my coworkers started having accidents.”

Yep and whoever it is, assuming they weren’t disposed of after said private network was set up, is now observing these events with their own bombshell to unleash if things get too close and too dicey.

It would be interesting to see if those gap times were times there were large deposits made to her bank account.

Gowdy is just another career politician.

Chest thumper when he needs to be so that the cameras turn to him.

No, you nailed it. Just another smoke and mirror dog and pony show for the masses. To make LIVs think they are doing something when in reality they are not.

Pointy pitch forks for everyone to be used as needed.

gowdy knew about this 6 months ago.

And he probably knows a lot more than that. Just because he's not whispering everything he knows in your ear not proof that he isn't interested. It's proof that he is.

He's a professional prosecutor. He's knows what he's doing. He never loses. Give him some time.

"The private email disclosure, published in The New York Times last week, raised Republican concerns about Clinton's commitment to transparency."

Her commitment to transparency isn't in question - it's nonexistent. It's her commitment to the law that needs to be addressed.

"WHO set up the server, and WHO maintained the server?"

Several judges and lawyers have pointed out that leaving confidential information in places that people without appropriate clearances can access it is ILLEGAL. If these computer administrators don't have top secret security clearances, Hillary has committed a felony.

Trey Gowdy said his committee lacked documentation from Clinton’s trip to Libya:

WHat he really means is, “ We have destroyed ALL incriminating evidence found in Hillary’s emails before the press got wind of it. The case is now over.

One of the things I think is most interesting about this entire email thing, aside from who actually managed the servers is the fact that there have been committees "looking into" Bengazi for a couple of years now, and we're only now learning about Hillary's email.

How hard could they possibly have been looking? The previous committee has already released it's "report" on the entire "investigation".

I still think that ultimately, the root of Bengazi is weapons running by the CIA working in conjunction with State.

Has anyone said where the server is now and its status?

Another line the Clinton's like to use is it was a "completely honest bureaucratic snafu."

A classic, that will remain forever new to the MSM.
