Sigma Alpha Epsilon's national headquarters closed its chapter at the University of Oklahoma Sunday after a video emerged purportedly showing members of the chapter singing a racist chant.
The video quickly gained visibility online. It was obtained and posted to Twitter by Unheard, which describes itself as "an alliance of Black students organized for change within campus administration and atmosphere," shows young men on a bus chanting "There will never be a n----r at SAE."
The tweet, directed at OU president David Boren, says "Racism is alive at The University of Oklahoma."
Students at the university plan to demonstrate on the Norman, Oklahoma campus at 7:30 a.m. local time. A prayer vigil was held Sunday night.
Chelsea Davis, one of two co-directors of Unheard, said the video was recorded during the weekend. Unheard was begun at the beginning of the semester to demand change, especially relating to diversity issues, Davis said.
"Clearly in that video, that is nothing new. That is nothing that just sparks up overnight. That is a chant that was well known, well versed, and seemed to be okay with everybody that was involved," said Davis, a junior at the university.

In contrast to the frat boy singing, the chants of the protesters in Texas is MUCH more likely to lead to actual violence.

Of course. Looks like they have learned their lesson.
Again, we have Free Sleech in this country. The frat brothers sang their song without legal consequence and the protesters can march through Highland Park without legal consequence.
This of the death threats to people who absolutely had nothing to do with the stupid video chants of these unwise youths.
I have raised the question of "Shelf Life". It is the one area to be hoped for. Again and again some person who has committed a folly re the Orwellian politically correct juggernaut, is thus victimized.
I had tracked number of cases. It seems that as volatile and ongoing as it seems, the case may wither on the vine. Fatigue sets in. John Rocker of baseball is an example. Now look at the police officer who went in after the youth in an apartment, he shot him as he was being beaten. I stand to be corrected, but it is dying down fast.
Can the relatives of these foolish youths just get on with life, this time in one month? Will the youths this time next year slip into happy oblivion? Lots more stuff likely to happen and bring fatigue for the ugly Orwellian lefties.

I didn’t expect any apology.
But maybe you need to reassess your definition of “threats of murder” and words in general. They have to apply to all sides, including yours.
The song/video/sentiment is low class, imo, but not illegal nor should it be. And the other side sure doesn’t get the media attention or “hanging” when they do it all the damn time. I don’t want these college kids to pay for their stupid mistake for the rest of their lives. But they will. Because they’re white. Where’s that white privilege? I sure don’t see it.
Also, why is it so wrong to “make a joke of hanging blacks” when it’s just fine to make jokes about white people, white men, Christians, Republicans, Rednecks, white trash, Italians, Irish, Polish, etc.? Do you also want those who joke about these people to get beat up? Or is it just people who say things about certain other “protected” people in our society?
Let me know the latest list of “protected” people because at this point I really don’t give a damn who is “offended” by anything especially WORDS.
I thought the First Amendment (and the rest of the Bill of Rights) protected the people from the Government (consequences from the Government)?
They have not been charged with a crime and they do not have a constitutional right to attend OU.
