The New Yorkers Gabriel Sherman took a deep-dive into the ongoing shipwreck that is NBC News. The most fascinating tidbit had nothing to do with the House of Cards-style machinations embroiling the Peacock Network. Buried under more than a dozen paragraphs is the bombshell that as anchor and managing editor of the NBC Nightly News, Brian Williams (who is currently serving a six-month suspension) refused to broadcast two big NBC News scoops damaging to President Obama.

But had it been a Republican, you can bet the farm that he’d mention any suspected criminal behavior. with relish.
Of course. Bury any story that reflects badly on Obama and magnify (and lie about) any story that helps him. It’s yellow journalism at its finest.
him and another few hundred thousands
They filter the news, and as a result they swing elections. Had they told the truth about Obama, he would have never won.
NBC’s previous parent company paid no taxes.
This, then, is racketeering .... for election fraud.
Perfectly acceptable, as stealing 950 FBI files.
At least I would be.
Take the retirement and go skydiving, or scuba off of the Bermudan coast .... build a ship in a bottle or mow the lawn ....
Just DO something to help you through the fact your sleep schedule has been f***** up for the rest of your life
Come on over HERE, Brian ... in FR ... WE'LL talk with you
Good riddance then.
Only two?
I want a recount...
They crossed the line from journalism to censorship a loooong time ago...................
Not really ‘yellow journalism’, more like ‘RED journalism’................
I read the article; they refer to Williams as struggling with his compadres at NBC “new” due to his lack of a college degree and a supposed “blue collar background”. I believe he is from Middletown, NJ which is quite wealthy and not blue collar in the slightest. And I also seem to remember that his father was the head of some large industry group, which would be the first blue collar group executive that I’ve heard of. They also make a big deal in the article about the impressive Deborah Turness, the Brit head of NBC News and how she was the only newsperson invited as a guest to the Queen’s dinner for Obama. Well, she and her “news” staff have been toadying up to this White House for years, it is hardly a tough invite for her to get.
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
As all the reporters do for the MSM.
Glad this is coming out, though. Spread it around and let it trickle down.
Just to fill in the blanks, here is the paragraph about the two stories:
“According to Shermans sources, in 2013, Williams refused to broadcast the news about a Justice Department memo justifying drone strikes against American citizens. Later that same year, Williams wouldnt air a report that said the Obama Administration had known since 2010 that ObamaCare would cost millions of Americans the very same insurance policies President Obama repeatedly promised they could keep.”
He was making $16 million a year.
They have to buy out the contract of a liar????? I am stunned by this!
well duh
We all knew this was going on but had no independent alternative means to get the word out or give us the real skinny. The Internet changed all that and the Main Stream Media suffered for it. Their solution to the decline in influence and income was to orchestrate the election of an unknown incompetent we all know now as either Barry Soetoro or Barack Hussein Obama. With him at the helm of equally corrupt Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government the answer to their problem was at hand; regulate the Internet. The pieces just keep falling into place. All of the insanity of the last six years can now be explained by and attributed to the Media’s desperate bid to not only survive but to return to its glory days when they alone determined what was “news”..
