Don’t know if they actaully beleive this themselves or are just trying to fool some of the people, (you know who you are).
When you have to stand in line at the gun counter at Cabela’s while 5 sales reps shpw others weapons, I doubt sincerely that gun ownership is down.

It could also be that people just don't want anyone to know if they have a firearm or not. I know if a doctor asks me if I have a firearm in my house, I may ask why or say I would rather not answer and if he presses, I would tell him no.

That's a significant decline since the late 1970s and early 1980s, when about half of Americans told researchers there was a gun in their household. Back in the 70s-80s, Americans weren't afraid to admit to gun ownership.
