ATF: Notice to those Commenting on the AP Ammo Exemption Framework(Suspends their M855 Ban)
atf.gov ^ | March 10, 2015 | ATF Public Affairs Division

Posted on 03/10/2015 11:23:16 AM PDT by Red Steel

Thank you for your interest in ATF's proposed framework for determining whether certain projectiles are “primarily intended for sporting purposes” within the meaning of 18 U.S.C. 921(a)(17)(C). The informal comment period will close on Monday, March 16, 2015. ATF has already received more than 80,000 comments, which will be made publicly available as soon as practicable.

Although ATF endeavored to create a proposal that reflected a good faith interpretation of the law and balanced the interests of law enforcement, industry, and sportsmen, the vast majority of the comments received to date are critical of the framework, and include issues that deserve further study. Accordingly, ATF will not at this time seek to issue a final framework. After the close of the comment period, ATF will process the comments received, further evaluate the issues raised therein, and provide additional open and transparent process (for example, through additional proposals and opportunities for comment) before proceeding with any framework.

“gun registration”gambit””?——Well-—maybe. But try to stay focused. Those comments came from 80,000 PATRIOTS who are obviously armed to the teeth——with high powered rifles. These are folks not afraid to speak up/ shoulder up/ saddle up/ fire up. In most cases willing to keep their Service Oaths. A stupid move on the part of any body federal/feral/or otherwise gummint inbred would guarantee a reaction they can’t handle. Might result in some summary trials on the steps of SCOTUS. While there is no doubt some heartburn in Jarettland I’d be surprised if there is not great relief in the top floor of BATF.——Semper Fi.

According to Radly Balko, there are over two MILLION uniformed police officers in this country. We'll see what those PATRIOTS do, one at a time, when those unionized SWAT teams trained in "us-against-them" show up to "restore order."

In most cases willing to keep their Service Oaths. A stupid move on the part of any body federal/feral/or otherwise gummint inbred would guarantee a reaction they can’t handle.

Piece of cake, primarily because our national militia is neither ordered nor well regulated. The command and control infrastructure is non-existent. The food stocks, ammo, and logistical support is hardly there at all. In fact, I'd be surprised if our various volunteer militias in the country were not already infiltrated. At least they've been bugged. Meanwhile, our Agenda 21 enemy is isolating the entire population into cities with a "greenbelt" no-man's-land thereabout incapable of sustaining life within which to pull the plug and starve the people if necessary. I suggest you give Leviticus 26 a read in that light to see where that goes.

Mind you, I am not at all opposed to the sentiment underlying your post. In fact, I've written a whole book on the Biblical Sabbath system that included a trained national militia with food stocked sufficient for the entire country for two years. What we have now is a long way from adequate.

After the close of the comment period, ATF will process the comments received, and tell the American People to pound sand ...

“I’m waiting for them to ban Russian & Ukraine 7.62x39. Leaving us to the expensive brass stuff.”

FedGov already did ban the import of Russian made AK’s and ammo —last year. Obama signed the order in another example of executive fiat. This time supposedly as a means of “punishing” the Russians for their military take over of the Crimea.

However, I expect the other shoe to drop on the cheap (Wolf), ammo coming out of the Ukraine. Nothing is beneath these bastards when it comes to trying to strangle the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans. At some point Obama’s henchman will want to cut off the Ukrainian ammo and will use the excuse of “political instability” there to do so.

“In most cases willing to keep their Service Oaths.”

I just got back from the jungles of Miuba, an interesting paradox, where even the Orthodox are totin’ subguns and the Libtards are hyperventilating in unison.

Howsumever, IMHO there are many who took That Oath - the one with the bit about “preserve and protect the Constitution” and believe it to be still binding upon them.

All who keep the oath are not members of Oath Keepers. God for America, but bound to be a surprise for the Muslim Brotherhood and their Democrat, RINO, and enviro allies.

What should give the tyrannically inclined pause is not mere guns, for as a retired member of a military group whose members can eats Rambo for breakfast once said, “Guns are for retail killing of ones enemies. Explosives and other weapons are for wholesale killing of ones enemies.”

Ask yourself how many people in America can make a “wholesale killing” device AKA “bomb” from common sifted flour? Think ‘silo explosion’ and then Google same.

Above all, We surround them, and they are our public servants. As Lorenzo Di Medici said, “I expect my servants to steal 10%. Above that and I must take action.”

Might I point out that Americans are aware their Gubment ‘servants’ are stealing more than 10% and becoming more than tolerably arrogant.

Oh, yeah - they are realizing they really can’t afford such servants and are beginning to recognize the future of their children/grandchildren is being destroyed unless action is taken.

For the sake of the Republic, one must hope and pray the issue can be settled in the ballot box.

Ammo prices are high.

“God for America,” while accurate, is a typo.

Shudda been “Good for America”.

Sorry.

I hope you’re wrong and there is an investigation, but I’m sure you’re right that it is not going to happen.

I wonder how many people bought up M855 in hopes of hording it.

I wonder how many are going to shoot it through from .223 Remington chambering... which SAAMI does not recommend.

That’s why a close friend of mine was careful to buy a rifle chambered in 5.56.

Thank you so very much for your post. I am in complete agreement that 17A is the singlemost destructive modification to the U.S. Constitution.

"Thank you so very much for your post. I am in complete agreement that 17A is the singlemost destructive modification to the U.S. Constitution."

The repeal 17A amendment needs provisions to give citizens the power to recall bad-apple representatives for their respective states, likewise for state legislatures to recall corrupt senators for their respective states.

I’m also inclined to suggest a provision that gives a 3/4 (why not 2/3?) majority of state legislatures the power to recall a corrupt senator from any state. But to comply with Constitution’s Article V requirement that all states have equal representation in Senate, I’m pondering the idea that states legislatures should be required to have temporary replacements (vice-senators) for recalled senators in case of time crunch for electing replacement.

In terms of iron core stuff that was banned long ago. The eurotrash stuff that you see now is lead core or similar. The test is whether the bullet is magnetic. The copper washed steel cases make it necessary to be careful when you check a round.

I’ve put several thousand rounds of WPA through my RRA with nary a jam.

The Saiga seems to not care what brand of ammo goes into it. Although it only feeds well with one brand of magazine.

As far as accuracy of the ammo, I never shoot from a bench and I figure consistent head shots at 100 yards is good enough for my eyesight.

Holy smoke, it was a joke! Or is it, `comrade’?

In fact, making an anonymous donation to the good guys is a good idea; I do believe that BATFE takes notice of those who voiced their opposition. Heck, a FReeper who’s a Vietnam vet lifetime NRA member gun owner OFWG (like me) might as well watch out for black Tahoes in the neighborhood.

Real question: so the BATFE `backs down’ on banning ammo!!? They’re not a political body! They should dig in their heels and say “the law is the law is the law as we see it” and sendi out their flying monkeys.

I mean, Obama blamed the Congress when the post-Newtown AWB bill went down in flames, what does he do now?

Announce that heads will roll at BATFE? They’re his guys, after all.

This is a great time to buy ammo. It’s cheaper than it was before the panic, and will never be this cheap again.

I do not know where you live exactly but here in my part of Virginia ammo is way pricier than before Sandy Hook. Granted, it is much lower than 2013 at the height of the panic but higher just the same.

I am lucky that for financial reasons I went on a buying spree prior to ol' Jug Ears being elected so I have what I need and want. Got my 5.56 NATO at 6.5 cents per round and bought enough to barter with when the economy collapses.

Internet.

I haven't looked at ammo prices online in a long time. I do need to get more 45 ACP rounds I use for self defense so I should go there, especially since the kind I use is not sold in stores. I also need some 380 ACP rounds for both target and protection.

I had better get cracking and get online, eh? :-)

Yeah, but in my case and I reckon for most of the 80,000 who responded, we’re already in plenty of databases anyway. Since I open carry its not exactly a secret as to what my views are.

Regardless of what the ‘Law’ might be, the 2nd states they are already non-compliant.

If a thing is illegal, taxed or licensed, it is INFRINGED.

Start playing the game by the rules of the Left: If a poll tax is illegal...Else, crank up a bill to have abortions registered or require a permit and background check

Watch the heads EXPLODE
