The “environmental movement” is not just anti-capitalist,

it’s anti-human.

We need to beat Michael Mann over the head with the name “Lysenko.”

Beat him with it like a hockey stick...

So, Walker is the best candidate on the environment?

"Scott Walker is the worst candidate for the environment."

So says Mother Jones, until someone else passes Walker in the polls, then THAT person will be declared the worst candidate for the environment.

From the article: “The messaging,” added Thoresen, “is to be business-friendly, don’t enforce.”

Ah, yes, the Wisconsin DNR. I recall back in the days when they were doing everything they could to frustrate the growth of Ashley Furniture in the small town of Arcadia. (Some of you might have seen the full-page article on Ashley in the Wall Street Journal last week.)

Ashley wanted to expand its plant into a wetland area and compensate by establishing a wetland in a different area, but the DNR would have nothing of it. Well, fortunately the DNR failed in its quest (eventually) and Ashley remained in the state where it has now become largest furniture company in the United States.

Now the same area is seeing millions of dollars pumped into it in the form of frack sand mining and jobs are plentiful in an area of the state that can really use them. In fact, that area usually votes Democrat, so maybe some economic prosperity is just what it will take to turn some votes around.

>>Walker has all the right people against him.<<

From the Mother Jones article: “Probably the least bad is New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who at least acknowledges that climate change is real and caused by human activity.”

Another reason Christie is not on my list of those I’d consider.

"It probably won't surprise you to learn that none of the prospective GOP presidential candidates are exactly champions of the environment. .... Walker just might be the worst."
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

While I agree that we must take care of the environment, please note the following. The author of the article evidently doesn’t understand that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for intrastate environmental issues.

So unless a presidential candidate is determined to inspire Congress to propose a clean environment amendment to the Constitution to the states, it is wrong to expect a president to promote a federal clean environment policy for the states since the fed have no constitutional authority to establish such a policy.

And the problem remains that the 10th Amendment and the unique, constitutional Article V power of the states to ratify new amendments to the Constitution are some of the best-kept secrets in corrupt DC.

Tell that to the EPA that does what it wants, when it wants, where it wants - and the states keep having to sue them.

Seems to me like every single beef that Mother Jones has with Scott Walker on the environment is a good reason to support Scott Walker.

If the Environmentalists are against Scott Walker, he's got my vote. Screw the tree huggers and the endangered tortoise they rode in on.

Thanks for reply Cincinatus’ Wife.

I wouldn’t be surprised if us freepers know more about the federal government’s constitutional limited powers then the people running the states do.

How much snow in Boston did this author shovel this winter???

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (Formerly the Conservation Dept) has a complete stranglehold on residents of Wisconsin.

They need their wings clipped & permanently.

I grew up in Wisconsin. There were sand & gravel pits EVERYWHERE. I am pretty sure that such materials were used to build roads all across the state.

Is there anything taught to today’s kids about HOW those roads got there in the first place?????
