I’m a pretty harsh critic of Gowdy, but the truth is that he is not authorized to investigate illegal activity.

If I were him, I would announce to Congressional leadership and to the public that there is prima facie evidence of illegality and a prosecutor is needed. That would be the non-egotistical thing to do.

Gowdy may feel trapped in that his committee is still tasked with investigating Bengazi, but a criminal proceeding would take precedence.

That is because she is a tyrant. Laws are meant to protect her. She must have thought those employees were a threat or simply used the excuse as a way to clean house. But man, talk about a shadow government. They have now made it impossible to see all their official correspondences.

I join you in consternation. How can the committee’s rules empower it to compel witnesses to appear, and agencies and individuals to produce documents, but not to produce the electronic repository of those documents? Gowdy must see legal wrangling with the Clintons as a tar-baby that will bog down his career. But this is now bigger than his remit, and requires an Independent Counsel.

We need a learned explanation of the ownership of the server. Hillary asserts that the server is part of Bill’s “ex Presidential office”, and also that it will “remain” private, thus implying it has been private property. But is it? When the taxpayers provide office infrastructure for ex-Presidents, do the ex-President’s take title to it as personal property? When? By what process? What stops ex-Presidents from buying expensive furnishings, artworks, etc. for their “office”, then selling them the next week, or carting them off to their homes? (If it was allowable, I am certain people like the Clintons would). I would really like to have some attorneys weigh in on this.

It is funny how Republicans play by the letter of the rules, and Democrats completely ignore them.

He hasn’t produced results.? really?

Has anyone gone to jail over Benghazi? Has anyone been punished in any way?

He produced the results he set out to accomplish, complete cover up. This is how you get invited into the Ruling Class.

At the rate this committee is going and the many times this admin and La Killary thumb their nose at Congress and the Law with no consequences,
Pretty much a done deal now, Mr. Gowdy.

Maybe the people she had fired can sue and ask for her email as part of discovery

Did the secret service have access to the server? Did they use it?

Me thinks that investigating Benghazi may have something to do with “illegal activity” such as a cover up as well as looking into the IRS “illegal” persecution of select groups...
I could be wrong but it could lead to illegality...

SoS email falls within the scope of the Benghazi investigation.

I seriously anything will happen to Hillary because of this. Like with Obama’s illegal acts, it isjust one more in a long string of l\violations of thelaw.

If you or I had a guitar with the wrong kind of ebony in it, they would send a SWAT team at 0400, smash down our doors, and take everything in our house including every computer and electronic device.

Welcome to the USSA, comrades.

I guess the only way to get it would be to prosecute Hillary for a crime involving the email. Currently there is no suspicion of a crime (except by you and I). Perhaps they could get an order not to destroy, tamper or delete anything pending their further investigation?
