Vive La Révolution!!!! (Rare conservative win / GOP establishment loss!)

Today, the GOP Establishment control of the GOP machinery was overturned.

Here is my 'back from the trenches' description of what happened today, in DeKalb County, Georgia. In summary, Populist GOP Conservatives have seized control of the local GOP machinery.

Here's how it worked: A local Freeper who shall remain nameless invited me and quite a few other like-minded people to the Delegate Selection process meeting sometime last month. We all signed up as delegates. There was no competition, by signing up, we became delegates to a person. Other conservative-minded activists must have done the same thing. I do not know that definitively, but the results speak for themselves:

Today was the election of all of the local GOP party county representatives, namely: The GOP County Chair, 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, and 3rd Vice Chair; Treasurer, and Secretary.

It was a total sweep. The true-conservative candidates all won. The establishment candidates all lost. To my eye, the establishment folks all looked a little stunned. Establishment hand-picked and Establishment-endorsed candidates who spent money, were summarily defeated. The populist conservative guys and gals -- who spent next to nothing -- handily creamed them.

We even sent a nice hearty 'middle finger' to Johnny Isakson, the GOP establishment Senator from GA: Johnny has a long tradition of speaking at these engagements. Today, when the vote came up to make room for him, our populist district chair made a motion that instead of us stopping when he got here, he speak at the end .. when the business we were THERE for, was conducted. (As an aside, we ran out of time anyways, and would have been completely messed up if he had given his usual stemwinder). The motion carried by a good margin. Johnny was told this, and he refused to come after all. The rationale was "We don't want to interrupt your business," but I am personally confident that he had a short, two word, eight-letter phrase that was what ACTUALLY came out of his mouth, and the second word would have been 'them'. LOL

I'm glad it happened that way. First of all, we *did* run out of time. Secondly, Johnny Isakson is on notice: The DeKalb County GOP has been captured by conservatives. This is one of the most liberal counties in Alanta, so this is quite a win.

Vive La Révolution!!!! Liberté, égalité, fraternité!

I am glad they were able to take advantage of the way things were set up to have this happen.

I'm pretty much expecting State GOP to change the delegate process to prevent more of this.

That's why we need to get to State.

Ah, the ancient Chinese curse.

Who cares. They can make it as interesting as they wish. I have no wife and no kids, I can take whatever they dish out.

Yes, they were caught off guard.

California where I am had the Democrats do the most shameful thing.
They said we will no longer have a Dem and Republican candidate in the election. No instead it would be the two that get the most votes. So a long time you have the choice of Democrat or Democrat for many offices, which is no choice at all.

Indeed. One step at a time, where the rubber meets the road is where it’s done. Congratulations, my FRiend.

If it was easy, they’d have women and children doing it. (Now dodging shoes and rolling pins, LOL!)

Yes, they were caught off guard.

Wish we had orchestrated a statewide coup.

Meaning the primaries only leave you with a Dem versus another Dem. That is how bad it can get.

Statewide is hard because as it is the Democrats are known to have elections and have whole boxes of votes found after the election.
They are not held accountable and lead our country in the national issue of having no shame.

The Freeper who orchestrated this is the guy who deserves the kudos. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! :)

I’m only a bit player.

What they did to us was to truck in a ton of recently minted “Republicans” into our local club and made our lives hell. Our president was far too nice/stupid and they won.

Yes! The GOPe only has control if we allow them to have it.

This must happen, state-by-state and precinct-by-precinct!!

This could turn states, like New Jersey red!
