A Google News search at 3 p.m. Eastern Time today for stories published in March about "Eva Carmichael" (in quotes; sorted by date) returned only 11 items.
Who is Eva Carmichael? She is a 94 year-old woman who was murdered in Meridian, Mississippi on March 1. Based on the complete lack of press coverage outside of the immediate area, it's reasonable to believe that the nation's journalists don't think, in the popular parlance, that "her life mattered" all that much. And why is that?
A March 6 Meridian Star story (HT to NewsBusters commenter "noncom") reported that "Four teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection with her murder, and that those charges are "capital murder and burglary." Additionally, "Other arrests in the case could be forthcoming."
Three of the four described as "teens" are legally adults. AP Stylebook practice, frequently violated, is supposedly to avoid using the term "teens" in such instances.
It doesn't take any imagination all to recognize that if this story were about four white teens killing a woman of any color, it definitely would have been covered at least regionally, if not nationally. (To be clear, I have not found a photo of Ms. Carmichael, or evidence of her race. UPDATE: A couple of commenters here have demonstrated that Ms. Carmichael was white.)
The demise of Eva Carmichael is just one small item in a long list of such crimes (to be clear, none of the others involve murder) chronicled by Colin Flaherty at American Thinker earlier today.
The press's consistent refusal to give prominence to black youth crime, clearly even murder, is undeniable, pervasive — and a national disgrace.

Not that I disagree with you, but let me make this sad point:
Stories like this really aren’t “news” because they happen fairly frequently. Although that’s not why the media doesn’t cover them, but everyone knows this. Whites certainly know it, and blacks know it too. You don’t need a weather man to know which way the wind blows.
“You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows” and yet we get a couple of hours of weather people every night doing just that, with wind chills and polar vortexes, and anything else that their power point presentations can show us. There’s a point to that too, and our fixation with the weather, and it’s climate change.
I wouldn’t mind a few regional crimes with race identified, and some that are also always missing are the successful gun defense of criminal action. But they aren’t on the producer’s scripts.

Yup. Dog bites man is not a story, man bites dog is. Anything that happens all the time is not “interesting”. Sadly this story would be the national news equivalent of “sun rises in the east”.
So I wonder, does the NAACP think the Meridian teacher's union should be purged of the incompetents who failed to teach these unfortunate young men right from wrong? Yea, me neither.

“Zebra killer” inmate JCX Simon, who along with three others who terrorized San Francisco with a mid-1970s killing spree that included 14 murders, has been found dead in San Quentin prison cell, prison authorities said. Simon was convicted with Larry Green, Manuel Moore and Jessie Lee Cooks of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder after an 18-hour deliberation by the jury in 1976. The men were charged with 14 murders and eight assaults. There were 22 crimes in a six-month crime spree involving mostly white victims.
Because the left wants more Whiteys to be murdered by feral street savages in repayment for injustices committed by dead people on dead people.
They want the underclass to rise up and overthrow their “oppressors”.
No, Jennings, the problem lies within the yutes’ families. Where’s daddy? For that matter, where’s mama? She’s certainly not setting a good example and teaching these ferals how to behave and have morals.
There is no bigger non-fan than me of the unionized public school teachers, but I’d be willing to bet that at some point the concept of “it’s bad to murder little old ladies” was conveyed.
Why is this not news?
