Senator Cotton never actually sent this letter to Iran. He only posted it on his government website.
I don’t believe 2 out 3 Americans support direct negotiations with these thugs.
The 47 didn’t negotiate with anyone. There was no exchange of views nor dialogue of any type.
An open letter in a newspaper, stating constitutional issues in the current context, is at best a modest rear-guard action against subversive elements.
It MIGHT have been better if they had addressed it “TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:”.
Maybe they should re-issue it with this addressee, as a sort of mulligan to clear the air on the message’s intent.
