Incitement to race war? You decide.
Something seems off about this story.
I would just observe that this guy was not as bloodied and beaten as George Zimmerman. In that case the liberals said Zimmermans injury was minor.
Overall I want to wait for more details. Again people are jumping to conclusions based in race. I want to hear more facts, not talking points, before I form an opinion on this.
From UVA President Sullivan to parents:
Dear Parents:
Yesterday, I wrote to our students and employees to express my deep concern about an incident that occurred on The Corner and to provide information about immediate steps that I have taken in response. As the safety and security of our students is my primary concern, I write today to share this information with you.
At about 12:45 a.m. on March 18, one of our students was injured while Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) agents were attempting to take him into custody on the sidewalk in front of Trinity Irish Pub. University Police and Charlottesville Police arrived on the scene shortly after the incident occurred. We have not yet clarified all of the details surrounding this event, but we are seeking to do so as quickly as possible.
Later that morning, I met with Charlottesville Police Chief Tim Longo and University Police Chief Mike Gibson in an effort to learn more about the incident. Furthermore, because ABC is a state agency, I contacted the Governor’s office to ask for an independent investigation of the incident. In response, Governor McAuliffe has asked the Secretary of Public Safety to initiate an independent Virginia State Police investigation into the use of force in this matter. This investigation is underway.
Members of our community should feel safe from the threat of bodily harm and other forms of violence. Today, our community stands unified in our commitment to seeking the truth about this incident. And we stand united in our belief that equal treatment and equal justice are among our fundamental rights under the law.

An Important Message from Marcus L. Martin and Maurice Apprey
March 18, 2015
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
We are outraged by the brutality against a University of Virginia undergraduate student that occurred in the early hours Wednesday, March 18, 2015. This African American male student was injured on the Corner, after being stopped by Virginia Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) officers. His head was slammed into the hard pavement with excessive force. The student required medical evaluation and treatment at the UVa Hospital Emergency Department. This was wrong and should not have occurred. In the many years of our medical, professional and leadership roles at the University, we view the nature of this assault as highly unusual and appalling based on the information we have received.
This incident is now being handled at the highest level of the University and the State of Virginia. We have spoken with student leaders and are sensitive to the collective remorse and reactions of the University and community. We are asking everyone to exercise sound judgment and discretion, as we seek to protect the student’s rights and privacy. The Office for Diversity and Equity and the Office of African-American Affairs (OAAA) are available to provide support. This evening, the Office of African-American Affairs (OAAA) will be open until 8:00 pm to provide support. As we wait to learn more about what happened last night, please know you can call us to talk about this situation and your concerns.
Violence against an individual, no matter the color of his or her skin, gender, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation, is inexcusable and appalling. If you are the victim of bias, racism, hazing, or sexual misconduct please report the incident to the Just Report It system. Our students have the right to a safe environment in which to obtain their education. We are deeply concerned about the safety of all students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Sincerely,
Marcus L. Martin, M.D.,
Vice President for Diversity & Equity
Professor of Emergency Medicine
Maurice Apprey, Ph.D., D.M., FIPA,
Dean, African-American Affairs
Professor of Psychiatry
Head wounds bleed a lot, even if they’re minor. In Michigan 3 goons all dressed in black shot at Detroit police officers. All of the shots missed. It’s apparently open season on ops in the USA.
CC
Getting the cues from the current regime no doubt.
Looks like he fell down.
Happens when you are drunk...
Nothing to see here....just more Obama, “son” vermin!!! This time it’s the Feds that are the “bad boys” for “rightfully” taking down a rowdy, drunk, out-of-hand Obama thug and adoree of Michael Brown...the would be cop killer Obamabot son!!!
He resisted, they took him down and he scraped his head.
I guess my point is that people get arrested eery day. Black people get arrested. White people get arrested. Some people resist arrest and get hurt as a result.
The reporting of this incident on national media before the facts are know is completely irresponsible.
ops=cops*
Sheesh,
CC
I have already formed an opinion on this based on Al Sharpton's Brawley fiasco and the Ferguson witness intimidation and media lie campaign. I will modify my opinion if the facts prove otherwise, but I really doubt I will have to.
Treat police with respect, and you will be treated civilly at the least, if not with respect.
And CNN is hooking this story to an old incident of a Dallas police shooting a mentally ill man in June.
Apparently, they should have repeatedly, politely requested he submit to arrest.
A couple years ago, these were the same cops that arrested a girl for carrying a bottle of water.
Not trying sound like an ass but people really need to read details and research crap for themselves and get both sides before jumping in using emotions, which is what I do, these people would sound less an idiot and would be taken more seriously if they did that.
When every man, woman, child, and elderly of your group constitutes only 13% of the population, inciting a ‘race war’ is not a good idea...............
