Not true since February of 2014. Illinois has Conceal/Carry and as a result, Chicago's murder rate dropped 56%. No longer the murder capital of the country, thanks in large part to Conceal/Carry being the law of the land.

another one that’s been going on for a long time, is they get a stolen car, then follow you (women are the typical victims of this one, but anyone can be). All the thugs duck down low in the stolen car. The car “accidentally” rear ends you. You get out to get insurance info etc, and the thugs jump out and do their thing to you while the original driver of the stolen car slams your car door shut so you can’t get back in.
It’s known, if you get “bumped” in Chicago don’t pull over just anywhere, pull over in a lit place, like, well, a crowded gas station. Even if the car that bumped you is nice fancy car, because the game is played with stolen cars.
If a black youth rear ends you, just keep on driving and tell your insurance agent it was hit and run. I hate to say it that way, but that’s just the way it is.
That kid has an American flag on his chest. I’m offended. I will sue to make him remove that immediately!
I worked with a guy from Compton many moons ago. He said they use to drag couches in to the road and rob the poor souls that tried to get out and move it. Old trick.
My dad grew up there. He told me I would never survive a stroll through his old neighborhood.

I just heard one where they put a note on your window, and hope that you don’t see it until you’ve got in and turned the car on.
See the note, get out to remove it, then they hop in and take off. I think it was a local story where the gal got gas and left her car unlocked. While shes at the pump the guy moved in on the other side, opened her door and grabbed some stuff.
I always lock my door at the pump. The doors in our house are always locked too. Never had a burglary or home invasion in our neighborhood that I know of, but it only takes one.
