Quote from speech

" I see an America where criminal justice is applied equally and any law that disproportionately incarcerates people of color is repealed."

(Fourth paragraph from the end of the speech)

Blacks are incarcerated for murder, rape and armed robbery at a rate disproportionately above their percentage in the population according to FBI crime stats.

Taking Paul at his word he wants to repeal the laws against these crimes.

You’re full of it. Show me some proof that he wants to repeal those laws.

I don’t like Paul but I don’t like people making up stuff, either.

I think this is what is causing the stir:

“I see an America where criminal justice is applied equally and any law that disproportionately incarcerates people of color is repealed.”

Since disproportionately more Blacks are incarcerated for murder, he seems to have made his first gaffe in his announcement speech.

We need to incarcerate about 70% of the people in the Federal government.

US has the highest per capita rate of imprisonment by far. Way higher than the other anglo nations, higher than Russia and China. I am nor sure as to the exact explanation, but something is wrong here.

For starters, maybe we can eliminate most of the Federal “crime fighting” agencies and let the states do most of the enforcement.

I provided the complete text of his speech and gave the relevant quote,

What part of “any law that disproportionately incarcerates people of color is repealed.” do you not understand?

The actual laws "that disproportionately incarcerates people of color: are the sentencing guidlines for repeat offenders.

It's still stupid, though, because he wants to repeal them, not change them. It doesn't change the fact that the crimes were committed.

Yup, since blacks have 7 times the murder rate as whites and over 10 times Asians, let’s just repeal those unjust murder laws.

Blacks are incarcerated for murder, rape and armed robbery at a rate disproportionately above their percentage in the population according to FBI crime stats.

That's because they commit the crimes. I wanted to like Rand Paul and was hoping for a robust debate within the Republican Party and a battle for its Conservative soul, it appears Rand Paul will NOT be part of that debate.

Advocating for "social justice" (which is what he was advocating for today) loses my vote, period.

.....and any law that disproportionately incarcerates people of color is repealed.

Well let's see here. Blacks commit more burglaries, rapes, murders, assault and battery's, gun related crimes, drug related crimes and the list goes on.

Blacks are 13-17% of the Country's population and commit a disproportionate amount of the crimes, for which they're rightly convicted for.

According to Rand Paul's own words, he'd repeal these types of laws because they in his own words, jail blacks at a disproportional rate than non-blacks.

Is it WHITEY'S fault that Blacks commit these crimes IN EXPONENTIALLY HIGHER NUMBERS than non-blacks and are jailed as a result?

Sorry, Rand Paul is as batshit crazy as his old man. I wanted to believe otherwise but it's true: the apple sure didn't fall far from that tree!!

How's this for a campaign slogan: DON'T DO THE CRIME IF YOU CAN'T DO THE TIME. Period.

That’s where he made his mistake. You are right and I understand the statistics.
