Debbie Wasserman Schultz: Rubio Is A Prune Packaged In Tinsel

Monday on MSNBC’s “The Rundown With José Díaz-Balart,” DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz attacked Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) as the same old Republican ideas with a young Hispanic face saying he is “a prune” with “some tinsel around it.”

Just because Rubio is dissed by the DNC head does not mean I have to feel sorry for or like Rubio.

Rubio is a former Speaker of the House in Florida, the former John Boehner of Florida.

My sense of Rubio is that he was part of the ‘Astroturf Tea Party’ created by the GOPe in 2010 to ride the wave of anger over Obamacare and then do nothing to change it meaningfully once he got there.

His weaving around issues or tough talks about issues don’t impress me.

The only sense I can make of Wasserman calling Rubio a "prune" is that she wants to bait Republicans into applying that term to Hillary, generating media criticism of "mean Republicans" and jump-starting Hillary's campaign.

The word "prune" makes no sense at all when applied to Rubio - it is almost exclusively used as a pejorative for an older person who is past their prime or out-of-touch or even a bit senile.

When ever I hear this woman's middle name “Wasserman” it makes me think of some kind of test for a vaginal disease. The Wasserman was probably named after a doctor who discovered the test. Anyway it creeps me out when I hear the word. She creeps me out when I see her.
