Prediction from National Review Online: Hillary will win
American Thinker ^ | 04/15/2015 | Thomas Lifson

Writing at National Review Online (and speaking for herself, not the editorial board), Myra Adams offers “Five Reasons Why Hillary Wins in 2016.”  It is worth examining her reasoning and looking not to dismiss it, but rather for means of countering the strengths she cites.  Presidential politics are very challenging for the GOP these days, and demographic trends, spurred by immigration policy, do not favor conservatives.

Reason number one: “First Female President”

The Democrats discovered and brilliantly exploited the “historic first” strategy with Barack Obama, foisting a radical, inexperienced rookie senator on us.  There are about four times more women than blacks, so the historic first strategy has an excellent chance of working again, and it is probably Hillary’s strongest card.

What to do?  Well, Carly Fiorina as VP nominee seems like a pretty good counter-strategy.  It is pretty clear she is hoping for exactly that role, and because of her two X chromosomes, she can go after Hillary in a way that no Y chromosome-impaired candidate could.  Veep nominees historically have role of attack dog, and Carly has shown herself very capable at this.  A female VP would  also be a historic first, and allow women with doubts about Hillary a chance to strike a blow for women without subjecting the nation to a lying, devious, imperious, nasty, and sneaky woman like Hillary.

Reason number two: “The Electoral College Is the GOP’s Worst Enemy”

This is the commonplace analysis, that a “blue wall” of Democrat sure-thing victories gets any Dem nominee perilously close to victory in Electoral College.

What to do?  Fight like hell in states that are considered blue historically but that have seen some red victories.  Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, for example.  And focus resources on Florida and Ohio.

Due to my wife’s profession she has a lot of liberal contacts. She shows me their comments on the Facebook. They are not very happy about Clinton and desperately want to vote for their hero Warren. If she is not an option they are trying very hard to find reasons to vote for Hillary. Right now their latest attempt to group together is based on the thought a Republican President might have the opportunity to replace 4 justices.

Liberals should know how the Democrat party feels about what the people want.

“I am not a big fan of primaries, I don't think they help, especially when you're someone as noted as Hillary.”

Over at DU, the consensus of opinion is that they will hold their nose and vote for her, but can’t muster up much enthusiasm and would far rather have Warren, Biden, Sanders, or O’Malley.

Do you think Alaska is going to turn blue because they legalized marijuana as well?

Colorado could go either way. Sure, Hickenlooper won a tough reelection but Democrats suffered some major defeats in Colorado last year.

They omitted a key reason: If Hillary gets the democratic nomination, the mainstream media will be totally in the tank for her. And that will include the so-called “moderators” in the presidential debates. That's a powerful advantage.

And I’m happy to stir as much dissent on the left as I can muster.

just wait till what happens if she has to debate someone like Ted Cruz--it'll be ugly

It all depends on the moderators. If they're all lefties, you can bet that Hillary will get warm and fuzzy softball questions, while Cruz will get "have you stopped beating your wife" type questions.

In the past, the GOP has always accepted panels made up of leftie moderators. Let's hope Cruz will be different! If they want Gwen Ifill, we'll take Mark Levin.

While I’ll almost agree with you, we forget Cruz had to make arguments for law cases for the toughest audience of all: the United States Supreme Court. And look at the way he can “disarm” MSM reporters extremely effectively, too. I’m not worried.

As I mentioned in my post #32, presidential debate moderators should be picked by the candidates. If it's Hillary vs. Cruz, let Hillary pick two moderators, and let Cruz pick two.

I'd love to see Mark Levin and Mark Steyn participate.

As it is, I believe some “nonpartial” group picks the moderators. Gwen Ifill was picked to moderate one presidential debate while she was actually writing a book about how great Obama was! Yeah, that was an impartial choice.

[[I’m also of the opinion that no GOP candidate can fix what is irretrievably broken]]

It’s possible they can fix some of it- but if another democrap wins- I believe it’ll be over because the gay agenda will be launched into overdrive and they WILL tear this country apart from the inside out- They’ve already done massive damage, but the reigns will be loosened if a dem wins and they will steam ahead full speed-

Plus, I think the GOP jumped the shark a few years back. I don’t think it is well.

It’s particularly troubling that the two decisive states FL and OH seem to be hotbeds of Democrat voter fraud despite having R Governors and SosS.

[[If she makes it to the general, folks like Ted Cruz will eat her lunch.]]

Whiel that is true- it’s very possible the main stream media will eat ted crux for lunch and cause America to feel deep sympathy for the poor picked on billary- Ted is not only going to have to fight the opponents, but he is going to have to fight the lying deceitful scumbags In the msm- and no matter how truthful how forceful he will be, the msm unfortunately has tremendous sway and will protect her all the way and attack ted relentlessly

It also doesn’t help our side with *leaders* like Midge and Bonehead likely rooting for her. It’ll keep their status quo so, you know.

I assumed the Mob would roll out Warren after MoveOn.org came out and endorsed her right after the first of the year.

So far it’s not happened. I’m starting to think the Mob has decided to let Hillary go for it, perhaps with the understanding the Mob will pick the VP and wonder if Hillary will last through the first term.
