Obama’s AG pick won’t commit to federal probe of Hillary Clinton email scandal

President Obama’s long-stalled nominee for attorney general, Loretta Lynch, has refused to commit to investigating former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s email secrecy scandal if confirmed as America’s top cop.

Responding to a question submitted by Sen. David Vitter, Louisiana Republican, Mrs. Lynch said in a letter Thursday that she didn’t have enough information to form an opinion about investigating Mrs. Clinton’s exclusive use of a private email account to conduct official business at the State Department.

“In my current role as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, my awareness of this issue has been limited to media reports and therefore, I do not have enough information at this time to determine whether action by the Department of Justice is warranted,” wrote Mrs. Lynch.

Mrs. Clinton, who entered the 2016 presidential race this week as the undisputed frontrunner for he Democratic nomination, may have violated federal open-records laws by using private email hosted by a server in her home, which she wiped clean of all but select emails amid the scandal.

I think you meant “dragon-slayer”, but you’re right about the romance. However, has Gowdy not said all along that because he is a prosecutor it would be nice to have evidence— evidence that has *not* been forthcoming, which he has also said on a number of occasions has been obfuscated, denied and is now missing entirely?

Gowdy seems pleased with the evidence he does have, as far as it goes, but it was he who first put the finger on the “private personal server”, which caused the confirmation of that fact to come tumbling out into the media. A fact that also insured that he had to kiss goodbye to much hope for a direct link to the role of and any directives by Hillary Clinton, once he learned she had then destroyed the personal server contents.

My suggestion is simply that if he is full of it, on the subject of his retrieval and enforcement powers over evidence, there should be a precedent that proves it.

So we have to ask Gowdy critics to seek out the precedent that proves that he is wrong on the powers of a Congressional Special Committee. If he is, then we can drop the crush, and say instead that he is shady, insincere and incompetent, hapless and too bi-partisan to function.

“...is Trey Gowdy bowing out as well.”

The Congress is the most corruptible body of people in this country. NOTHING is happening when it comes to accountability and performance of our government. No law. No justice.

A Gowdy or an Issa or a Grassley in the Senate can only do so much with investigations. They can raise an alarm with their colleagues, but they understand their colleagues have to stand with them. In normal times, protecting one’s career is understandable. The day is coming quickly when even DC insiders will understand these aren’t normal times.

...my awareness of this issue has been limited to media reports...

I suppose there are actually people who believe this
just like there are people who believe Obama gets his
information from the media too...

Hillary Clinton committed a stack of federal felonies about three feet high, and the Gruberment is not going to investigate.

I'll know how to respond if feral farce enlawment ever comes hanging around me...
