A middle school teacher is recovering in hospital in New York after being viciously assaulted by one of her student's mothers and the woman's 14-year-old niece. The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon at Alverta B. Gray Schultz Middle School in Hempstead. Police say the parent, Annika McKenzie, 34, walked into the building without being cleared by security and waited in the hallway for her daughter's math teacher, Catherine Engelhardt. McKenzie believed Engelhardt had 'put her hands' on her 12-year-old daughter earlier in the day, according to ABC 7.

Along with criminal charges this teacher should sue assailants and school. I hope she destroys them.

Correct! It’s not a uncommon occurrence it’s an ongoing pattern that’s being purposely ignored by the media.
It wasn’t uncommon back in the 50s and 60s in Texas either (Houston and Dallas). Heck ... on my first day in Middle School (Junior High) in Dallas, there was a guy shot and killed in drive-by and several others wounded. I just missed getting hit on that one! They were dropping around me!
I also remember several teachers getting beat up at school by parents plus a principal getting beat in the hallway ... LOL ...
How is this SECOND degree assault?
What about this crime is SECONDARY?
And what is it SECONDARY to?
What would be FIRST degree assault? Splashing gasoline all over the teacher and lighting her on fire? Anything less than that is SECOND DEGREE assault?
If the races were reversed this would be ATTEMPTED MURDER and a HATE CRIME.

With a name like Annika, I’m thinking she’s a member of the Swedish Bikini Team.
Oh, the story made nine local news sites for the NY/Long Island area. But nothing like the non-stop national news we would be seeing if the races were reversed.
More likely than not the young scholar's momma has no assets; you and I just wrote her a support check two days ago.

She won’t. The fact that she was teaching in such a school where she was daily afraid of kids who have no respect for adults is a solid indication that she— a mother, with other responsibilities to her own children before any of these feral youths— lacks judgment. Maybe even gets that Chris Matthews tingle up her leg because she’s stooping to help those “less fortunate”.

Oh, so by all means, please come into a public school and assault and choke out a teacher, that is normal acceptable behavior — Because she believed something. No facts, just a feeling/belief.
