“The Everglades is one of the most special places in our country,” the president said. “But it’s also one of the most fragile. Rising sea levels are putting a national treasure — and an economic engine for the South Florida tourism industry — at risk.”

An extremist, anti-government organization called NOAA has this to say about rising sea levels:

Mean Sea Level Trend Key West, Florida

"The mean sea level trend is 2.31 millimeters/year with a 95% confidence interval of +/- 0.15 mm/yr based on monthly mean sea level data from 1913 to 2013 which is equivalent to a change of 0.76 feet in 100 years."

So yes, the sea level is rising. Anyone with a house within 0.76 feet of high tide should plan on relocating within the next 100 years. Clearly this is an emergency requiring a major tax increase.

Of course, "high water events" do occur in Key West, per hurricanecity.com:

Key west,Florida's history with tropical systems

My grandfather lost his house in Key West due to a hurricane in 1909. He rebuilt on the same spot. He was angry and decided to use wooden pegs instead of nails. When we visited the Keys after the turn of the millenium, the house looked the same (except in color) as the old family photographs. But in those days, people did not build on the shore and then expect a government handout when disaster struck.

The rising sea level is why the really wealthy——the folks with insider connections and knowledge-—have ceased building on the world’s shorelines and are abandoning their properties and fleeing to high ground.

Thank Gaia though, that the Sultan travels with a 747 and two or three C17s that do not use any petroleum products.
