Polls: Americans Are Fed Up with Immigration
TeaParty.org ^ | APRIL 21, 2015

American opposition to the Obama administration and GOP establishment’s extremist immigration policies is boiling at an all-time high, a broad survey of polls shows.

Sixty percent of Americans are displeased with the current levels of immigration, according to Gallup—a decline from 72 percent in 2008, when the country plunged into a recession, but an increase of six percent from 2014. The majority of adults Gallup polled, 39 percent in a plurality, said they wanted to see immigration levels decrease. Gallup presents these numbers through a partisan filter as “fodder” for Republicans, discomforted as they are by the results.

According to Pew Research Center, 69 percent of Americans want to “restrict and control”immigration rates. That’s 72 percent of whites, 66 percent of blacks, and 59 percent of Hispanics. Pew frames its questions to suggest that minorities are being somehow oppressed in America, so the results are not only indicative of support for immigration control but also a rejection of the leftist narrative that the U.S. selfishly hoards its goodiesfrom the world.

A nervous Reuters report, published before the historic 2014 midterm elections, found that support for reduced rates of immigration crushed support for an increase by a three-to-one margin, 45 percent to 17.

With reports revealing that foreign-born workers seized all newly-created jobs from 2000 to 2014, Americans sense that while low-skilled immigrants steal opportunities from Americans looking to enter the job market, highly-skilled immigrants imported on the cheap by businesses threaten to turn middle class professionals into commodities. Sixty-one percent of respondents polled by Princeton Survey Research Associates in June 2013 said we must restrict the number of highly-skilled foreign workers coming into the country, the same summer the Senate struggled to pass the Gang of Eight immigration bill to open the floodgates.

People thing Obama is the only ruinous president we have had. Note this last was done by the Un loving, New World Order globalist George HW Bush, who also signed UN Agenda 21 two years later.

We have no representation. We are doomed.

I’m fed up with immigration also—LEGAL Immigration as well.

We should have shut it down 30 years ago at least.

Actually I think that if Walker drags the conversation about immigration away from the baby-talk of "borders" and "illegals" (borders and laws are vital tools, but they're not goals) it's a good thing for Cruz too .

A GOP primary debate about immigration that focuses on restricting overall numbers (and hopefully source countries) will suck the oxygen out of the room for unapologetic open-border enthusiasts like Jeb and Rubio.

With any luck we could end up with a choice of the best candidate, instead of the least worst.

About two years ago I had a one on one briefing with Eric Cantor on the immigration issue. At the end of the 45 minute session, I asked him if the situation were reversed and the vast majority of immigrants were voting Rep rather than Dem, what would the reaction of the Dems be? He laughed and said they wouldn't stand for it. So why is the GOP doing nothing about a policy of importing hundreds of thousands of future Dem voters every year, which is making them the permanent minority part?

Since 1990 over 30 million LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS have entered this country. Is it any wonder that 8 out of the 9 so called purple states are turning blue.

Agree. Bush 41 signed the Immigration Act of 1990 that almost doubled the cap on legal immigration. It is the reason we now import 1.1 million legal immigrants a year. During the period 1925 to 1965, we averaged 190,000 legal immigrants a year.

Los Angeles County voted Republican in 1980. Unfathomable today.

The demographic changes in California are the sort of thing that usually requires a war.

(But it's all good if it's "legal" /s)

I agree that legal immigration is too high. But, What also burns my butt, SD, is that Americans are so tied to their hometown that they can’t leave their minimum wage job in their Midwest town and make a decision to take a good paying job in South Dakota because it’s too far from home.

” Enforcing the laws will not change the fact that we bring in 1.1 million LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS A YEAR.”

And YOU are almost alone here at FR posting proof of how destructive this is to our country. Please keep it up.

” It is not the legal immigrants I am worried about. “

Well you should be. They are STEALING our middle class jobs far more than illegals are. It is deadly.

The demographic changes are not confined to CA. NV, CO, and VA are now Dem states for Presidential elections. When Texas goes, it is all over. Harris County is the canary in the coal mine.

This is similar to the proverbial frog being boiled slowly to death. By the time the frog figures out what is happening, it is too late. We have reached that point.

The problem is that both parties are owned by their corporate paymasters. The Dems have the unions and the corporations, The Reps just have the corporations. The political elites could care less what happens to this country or the American worker. As long as they continue to get reelected with the help of their corporate donations.

Walker represents a real threat to the Uniparty. The immigration issue, as it was in the UK, could be spark that wakes up the American voter who will be asked to believe what the politicians say or their own lyin' eyes.

In 1970 one in 21 was foreign born; today it is one in 8, the highest in 90 years, and within a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history. You can't quadruple the number of foreign born from the 9.7 million in 1970 to 41.5 million today without someone noticing what is going on.

Scott has a problem.

He states his immigration policy has changed.

What do you do if you want to protect the jobs of U. S. Citizens? Don’t you send back the people who are here illegally holding down jobs?

In this video clip his old (2013) policy is aired in a second video clip. He backs illegals staying in the U. S. if they pay a fine.

It is also mentioned that he favored the McCain/Kennedy immigration bill. (You know, amnesty but not an amnesty) He acknowledges that.

Then in this (03/01/2015) clip, Walker is asked if illegals can stay, if they pay a fine. He responds with, I believes a way can be found to do that.

This is the same policy as his old policy.

Then he states that his policy has changed. No Scott, it hasn’t changed. You just got through endorsing the same policy, illegals being allowed to stay in our country if they pay a fine. So you even fibbed about it.

In 2006/07, 2013, and now in 2015, his immigration policy regarding illegal immigrants is the same as that under McCain/Kennedy. Let them pay a fine and stay.

Immigration is discussed starting at 9:20 and the “...a way can be found...” is located at 10:20

So true. Immigration is pushing the Electoral College beyond the reach of the GOP (it may already be there).

And the likes of John McCain, George Bush Junior, Boehner, McConnell etc will have been the handmaidens to the Democrats' murder of our homeland.

Thank you for your posts. We need a moratorium on ALL immigration, while working .....

Indeed; we need a virtual timeout on ALL immigration, legal and illegal. It will take us at least the next 30 years to assimilate the legal immigrants that we've taken in over the last 30 years.

Kabar, thanks for your good work.
