Is Virginia Becoming a Liberal State? Some Democrats Are Betting on It.
National Journal ^ | April 22, 2015 | Karyn Bruggeman

As two of Virginia's top Democrats weigh running for governor in 2017, potentially against each other, they are embracing traditionally liberal issues in a way that would have been politically toxic just years ago in the Upper South state.

The bet that both Attorney General Mark Herring and Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam are making is not only that the strongest possible progressive record would help win a Democratic primary, but that it will also help in the general election. Nationally, Democrats have grown emboldened on cultural issues over the past few years, and Virginia—where demographic shifts have widened their path to victory through diversified, left-leaning urban and suburban regions—might be the place feeling that trend most acutely.

NOVA is now nothing more than a suburb of DC... so that part of the state is absolutely yankee liberal controlled at the moment.

Yep you’re right. Its my contention that if there is a CIC election this year the DIMocrat candidate will win... maybe in a landslide (by states) due to a massive fraud (illegals and otherwise). Like I stated after odumbos second win.. There will never be another Rep prez again. There are a few red states very vulnerable.

Thanks, Gaffer. Yes, it’s part of the design to take this country down. I have no use for any traitorous politician who espouses it, whether Dem or Repub.

After my dad came back from after Enewetak tests and my family’s stay with grandpa and the old family house (no inside water/plumbing and only REA electricity) we all moved to Mary’s Land for him to work out of Andrews AFB at a Brandywine site. Prince George’s County in Marlow Heights. My boyhood in the junior high years was pleasant given the demographics there. I went to Sandy Mount Elementary and then to Benjamin Stoddard JHS. I’m guessing they’ve been renamed drastically if they still exist at all.

Decades later as a contractor visiting a sponsor at NMIC very near where we had once lived as a functioning family I mentioned to the sponsor about possibly visiting my former home on 28th avenue near the former Hecht store and shopping center. She smiled and said “Best do that in broad daylight and at about 60 MPH!”

Virginia split into 2 states in 1861 and should split again. NOVA and ROVA have little in common and are clearly split geographically now. NOVA is ruled by the elites like in the northeast.

The Federal Tit in DC now has it’s dependent and rich babies almost to Fredricksburg and west to Winchester.

It’s time to split into Virginia and Northern Virginia - similar to North and South Carolina and the Dakotas.

True Virginian’s are sick of the takeover of the Marxists and we need to do something about it.

But then, the Marxists like our governor and attorney general are greedy and will never allow it - they want the whole state.

Sickening.

The takeover of Virginia by Marxists mirrors the takeover of the whole nation by them.

Yes, I know about that one. It's affiliated with Muslims of America; they receive their funding from jihadist groups overseas. They are arming themselves and training for warfare, and there are several of these compounds around the country.

Maybe it was a good time for me to have left VA in August 2014 after being there all of my life to NH.

You’re a lot tougher than I am if you can handle the long, hard winters there.

Are the NH people as conservative as the Vermonters are liberal?

I grew up in the midwest, and have found Virginia winters wonderful compared to those of the midwest - until this year.

Now I’m ready to move further south....a lot further.......

HELL, no...some of the few conservatives remaining in soviet Red Hampshire refer to this state as 'East Vermont'.

So moving to NH got you what? Besides longer, colder winters?

Don’t mean to be nasty........I’m sure a real necessity initiated your move.

Me? Glad I still live in a VERY conservative part of VA - we just elected Dave Brat and kicked Eric Cantor in the a**..........

It was an 'in-law' thing (funny how that is ALWAYS the situation when I run into a southern refugee up here). Even my wife (it was HER in-laws) admits it was a horrible mistake...from East Tennessee to soviet Red Hampshire...'Almighty God, forbid it!' We didn't listen.

BIG fans of SW Virginia...Claytor Lake, Grayson Highlands, Burke's Garden...wouldn't give you a wooden nickle for the area near DC, though.

Wow. Sorry.

Totally agree with your last paragraph - wife’s family is from Mt. Airy, Patrick County - love all of VA from Staunton west and south - especially on a big Harley with my bride or a daughter behind me, sons on their bikes behind us..........

We have immigrated a new nation, a liberal one.

If the Dems don't have a lock on the Electoral College already they will by the following Presidential election. And that lock becomes ironclad once the Hispanic majority in Texas is old enough to vote.

I guess the USA had a good run.

And while the liberal white Democrats will dance on its grave for about one more generation, they too eventually will be shoved aside by our Third World overlords.

A GOP POTUS could cure this with some serious prosecutions and then force a registry of voters. Even better allow a bounty on people who vote twice as an incentive to catch them. Tack on serious jail time and a major fine and this problem dissolves.
