I agree if he did say “I have no problem” then I have a problem, gay means homosexual and if you have no problem with your child being such than something is wrong with you, lets just follow the natural course of these things, could anyone say I have no problem if my child is transvestite, queer, lesbian, pedifile, prostitute, ect, having no problem with it is how these things get to be acceptable.

Yes love your children, saying you have no problem with them if they choose to promote, approve of or engage in perverted deviant behavior does not demonstrate love IMO! I am an avid Cruz supporter and I find this to be UNBELIEVABLE, I do not see how he can let this stand, I’ve said many times he believes what he says, means what he says, he does not backtrack, but there is no other way out of this if true, he could not of said those words I HAVE NO PROBLEM, for now I choose to believe he did not say “he has no problem if his daughter is gay” that must be some reporters interpretation or just an outright lie, and lies like this have a way sticking, I stand with CRUZ he did not say this and I refuse to believe he did until I hear him say so with my own ears.

The word "problem" does not appear anywhere in the NYT article, either as a quote or as a paraphrase. Someone on this thread made it up, lied, for what purpose I do not know.

You can rest easy.

He said that he would have no problem

Neither Cruz nor the NYT used the word "problem". Someone on this thread made it up to suppress support for Cruz.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I am new and did not use the sarcasm tag. Please forgive me if I caused you any pain. Of course Cruz is classiest man of the bunch, in the image of Reagan. The dolts were the NY Times.

From the story: Mr. Cruz said he would have no problem if one of his daughters was gay. ....

“Ted Cruz said, ‘If one of my daughters was gay, I would love them just as much,’” recalled Mr. Reisner, a same-sex marriage proponent... etc.

The reporter rephrased Cruz's "I'd still love my daughter if she was gay" to "I'd have no problem with it."

Talk about angling a quote.

Amen !

But those who almost, but never accepted salvation, rejected the Gosple and turned back into Judaism were never ordained to salvation in the first place.

OK, this is turning into a discussion for the religious forms..

The book of Acts says it best: Those who were ordained unto salvation believed.

[[They don’t know what they’re in for, because he’s countless times smarter than any of them.]]

I know,. I keep waiting for him to really start speaking- knowing he’s going to eat them for lunch- I think a lot of people are really going to be surprised at how powerful this man is when he speaks- how unwavering- how confrontational- how direct an to the point and how he will be able to cut through all the nonsense- the other candidates aint seen nothin yet I think

[[You have to be smart enough to know where Ted stands because he has stated what he believes.]]

I hjave not heard nor read anything about where Ted would stand IF his daughter were gay- Have you?

[[No, Ted can’t speak to every misconstrued wording millions of people come up with ]]

That’s true- he can’t- but this is a big big deal IF he really did say that, and is something he should clarify

[[basing that on what the gay person “said” Ted said, which he didn’t.]]

I’ll ask you again- how do you know he didn’t say that? you believe he then said ““Ted Cruz said, ‘If one of my daughters was gay, I would love them just as much,’” Because that same gay person told you he said that- how do you know Ted didn’t say the first thing as well? That’s all I’m asking at this point-

[[Catherine of Aragon has nailed it for you:

“This is Ted Cruz on homosexual “marriage.”
“Marriage Was God’s Idea, And He Will Preserve It, With or Without Us””]]

Marcella- We are talking about Ted’s comments at a dinner about what He would think if his daughter said she was gay- we’re not talking about Ted’s stand on gay marriage- these are two different issues-

[[That is a direct quote from Cruz. If all these words I have written and now Catherine has written, hasn’t convinced you what Ted actually said (and believes),]]

Why would I think his position on gay marriage is the same as what he was talking about at that dinner? They are two different issues- The gay man said Ted said He’d be fine with his daughter being gay- I don’t know if Ted actually said THOSE words or not- BUT IF he did, then it’s a big deal because Christians should NOT be fine with their children being gay- this is what is such a big deal about this whole issue- and again, I think it’s perfectly reasonable for Christians to be asking IF this is what Ted actually said, or if the NYT intentionally misconstrued an actual statement that he gave later-

I’m not going to blindly just follow anyone- Yes, He is the strongest candidate we have- Yes He’d make a great president EVEN IF he did say that- however, I’d be more cautious of him IF he indeed said something like because so many politicians today have compromised their values- some severely so- some only slightly- and with the assault on traditional marriage, and with the gay agenda forcing their filthy lifestyle on the world, it would be disheartening to me to find out Ted actually did say something like this because it ‘could be’ a harbinger of things to come- NOT that it is likely- but from experience, I’ve found it pays to always be cautious and to ask lots of questions when it comes to serious issues like that

Well there you have it- all this over someone posting an article and adding to it- I just held my nose and went to the NYT article- it does not state that Cruz said He’d ‘be fine with’ which the article on FR said it did-

I took it for granted that the poster of the article had posted an excerpt verbatim.

[[Someone on this thread made it up, lied, for what purpose I do not know.]]

That does appear to be the case- Sadly-

I do still disagree with Ted’s ‘it should be left up to the states’ statement- but that isn’t as big an issue as if he had said He’d ‘be fine with’ his daughter being gay- (which it turns out he did not infact say-

Shiny objects people shiny objects. I could care less if Adam loves Steve and it should be left to the States. We are a representative republic for a reason. This damn country is falling apart economically and we are arguing if Ted Cruz supports gays or not. Who gives a rats a@@. Quite frankly if someone wants to be gay let em. Just get congress out of our damn homes. The top issues are our borders, national security, our economy, and cleaning up our foreign policy. These feel good societal issues need to be aside until we take care of priorities first.

please my post 228- it appears the poster of this article lied- Cruz never did infact say that he’d ‘be fine with’ his daughter being gay- That’s all I really wanted to know, really- The poster of this article apparently LIED about what two attendees claimed that Ted said- Sad that the poster added those words-

[[Who gives a rats a@@.]]

Ummm- conservatives care-

[[Quite frankly if someone wants to be gay let em.]]

no one is saying otherwise- That’s much different than SUPPORTING their filthy lifestyle- The gay agenda IS destroying this nation- and that IS a very serious issue- as you will note- the gay agenda has been attacking Christians all across this nation- forcing hem out of business- ruining their lives- threatening them-

[[Who gives a rats a@@.]]?

LOTS of people give a rats a@@- the gay agenda is NOT content living peaceably alongside everyone- they are hell bent on destroying Christians and morals In this nation!

I also am questioning why he would be at a function hosted by homosexuals.

Me too. Could it be $$$$?

I'd like to hear him speak to this.

“I hjave not heard nor read anything about where Ted would stand IF his daughter were gay- Have you?”

Yes, he said he would love her anyway.

He is against gay marriage, believes marriage is between one man and one woman. We are done on this subject.

and I’m a little concerned over his feeling that gay marriage should be left up to the states- Gay marriage is wrong- period- I thought that is what his stance was- ...

His stance is that enforcing laws regulating how free people accept or reject the charade of two homosexuals being "married" is way beyond, outside, the Federal government's scope, regardless of whether he thinks two homosexuals pretending to be married is right or wrong.

Gay marriage is an oxymoron. It's a unicorn, entirely pretend. What are very real are laws that punish people for making the moral discrimination to reject open homosexuality, civilly and peacefully, in their private, business, and public circles.

Those laws are what prevent free people from living morally. Not the homosexuality, but the laws. Such laws should be left to the states. The Federal government is a force uncontrolled that must be reformed to be a servant. Then Americans will be able to be more moral.

And I agree with Cruz.

*side note ... ah, memories!* In my college days, my roommate and I were invited to a party, neither of us with any idea that it was a party of lesbians, mostly athletes, at the school. Wow. Talk about weird. We booked as soon as we figured it out -- we were so naïve it took us about an hour! Waiting for the guys -- any guys! -- to show up! {^)

Not that that's what happened to Cruz, he had to have known. Just FYI, mrsmel, I have had and still have many openly homosexual friends and acquaintances, starting from about the age of 16, my first boss. So while I abhor the homosexual agenda whose sole force is government, I continue to love and tolerate the individuals I know who, for whatever reason, have taken that path.

Cruz had a reason for going, and it was probably a good one and a moral one.

Good God you will make excuses for him to the end. How sad really. He really isn’t worth it.

That's your assessment of Cruz? Based on this?

Really?

16 There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, 19 a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers (Proverbs 6:16-19).

Then Cruz's presence at the function is keeping within God's rules, because it involved none of the above.

Cruz is a righteous man.

Bob, some Christians -- I'm one -- take from the Bible such valuable codes of behavior such as the Proverbs you posted above (so beautiful ... THANK YOU for posting them) ...

... and also the two most important things as per Jesus' instruction: Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, the first and greatest commandment, the second being to Love your neighbor as yourself -- all the law and prophecies hang on those two commandments.

Everything else is just detail.
