Levin Destroys Republicans: ‘Lying, No Good for Nothing, Preposterous and Pathetic!’
PJ Media ^ | 04-30-2015 | Michael van der Galien

Mark truly blasted, if not utterly destroyed, Republican leaders in the U.S. Senate for opposing amendments to the now notorious Iran bill.

The first amendment literally says this:

"To require a certification that Iran has not directly supported or carried out an act of terrorism against the United States or a United States person anywhere in the world."

You’d think that’s a rather low threshold to hold a country to, but for Republican leaders it's “a bridge too far.”

“We have eight Republicans who voted ‘no’ on this amendment. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee. Just got reelected. Had gone back to Tennessee promising Tea Party groups he’s a real conservative… He’s a lying, no good for nothing. Dan Coats of Indiana who has announced he’s not running for reelection. So this man feels he’s as free to be as irresponsible as he chooses. The preposterous, pathetic egomaniac Corker, of Tennessee… The absolutely absurd Jeff Flake of Arizona. Lindsey Graham, who has the nerve to attack Rand Paul – he has the nerve to attack Rand Paul on foreign policy, when Lindsey Graham is helping to lead the way against this amendment! Orrin Hatch, an absolute unmitigated fraud. John McCain, who is up for reelection Arizona! – but you have an open primary system and he’s relying on non-conservatives and non-Republicans to get him the nomination the way Lindsey Graham did in South Carolina. And Senator Perdue from Georgia; I don’t get it, hopefully he’ll put out a statement and explain himself.”

Being “the good little communists they are,” Democrats will vote for whatever bill President Obama wants them to support, but what about these eight Republican sellouts? They’re supposed to be conservative, to stand up for the Constitution and America’s national security. What excuse do they have? None. They have nothing.

The Republican Senate is a disaster. And unless we get a new Republican Party, it’ll continue to be.

The Democrat party is hopelessly corrupt. Many of us were hoping the GOP would provide a brake on them but the leadership has proven to be just as corrupt as their counterparts.

To say they've been a disappointment is a huge understatement.

I have no reason to believe that the leadership of the GOP is any less corrupt than the Democrats’ leaders.

I have every reason to believe that the leadership of the GOP is every bit as corrupt as the DemocRAT leaders.

Maybe worse.....look at their voting record since November...traitors!

Not in this oligarchy. We’re not voting our way out of this mess.

I hope the Chamber of Commerce enjoys life under President Bernie Sanders, because most of us won’t be getting off the couch next November.

What’s all this talk about “destruction”? He hasn’t destroyed anything or anyone, he’s just talking.

When we start seeing people leaving their offices with their bags packed, or doing the perp walk, THEN we can say we’re destroying people.

Until that happens, it’s all bloviating.

“Many of us were hoping the GOP would provide a brake on them but the leadership has proven to be just as corrupt as their counterparts.”

The cost of running for a House or the Senate seat has reached obscene levels. Unless the candidate is independently wealthy, she or he must reach an understanding with individuals and groups capable of providing the millions of dollars required to execute a campaign. The monied interests behind the curtain expect a return on their investment. Both GOP and Democrat politicians either deliver the required vote when asked or they find their campaign coffers empty the next time they stand for office. The $20 contributions from the little people are meaningless for most campaigns today.

Since 2011 the GOP has controlled the power of the purse through the appropriations process yet every Obama desire has been funded. Now the GOP controlled Senate is falling in line. The only explanations are:
1) They are puppets doing the bidding of the wealthy who finance their campaigns.
2) They are victims of extortion or afraid of extortion. The NSA, FBI, or foreign powers know about their sexual perversions or crooked financial deals.
3) They actually believe in the policy.
4) They crave advancement in the party and are playing the game to move up in the party hierarchy. The quest for power is driving them.
5) Ego gratification. By bucking conservative policies they get media time. McCain’s frequent appearances on the Sunday talk show circuit are all about his willingness to throw conservative principles to the wind in order to be fawned over by the press.

Name the politician. It isn’t hard to guess which of the reasons listed above explains their votes. The worst are those who won’t stand for election again. Most, will sell any vote to the highest bidder. They all go home with appointments to corporate boards and big campaign war chests they can convert to personal use.

Exactly. A lot of fulminating and basically no supporting action is nearly worthless.

For some of them, it is likely some combination of all 5 reasons.

The man has 10 million daily listeners (or thereabout). You think it doesn’t have an impact when he calls on them to do something and throws their support behind good candidates, including real conservatives that challenge turncoat Republican senators and congressmen?

Too many Dems and RINOS are feeding from the Chamber of Commerce/corporate trough. Reagan was right when he said he wanted to take the GOP off of Wall St. and back to Main St. Right now the combined influence of Wall and “K” Streets is keeping the political classes fat and content while they leave their constituents to hang in the air.

This is the big drawback for Ted Cruz as well. He’s part of the Senate sewer too. What’s his excuse for wallowing in feces?

But he is still 1-inch away from dumping them.

==

Reforming the Republican Party from within has not worked since Reagan Goldwater tried.

Battered Conservatives Syndrome. Conservatives keep hoping, keep getting disappointed.

Recall when McConnell claimed 'give us another try at Majority Leadership.' [How has that worked out? I see the Dems regaining the Senate in 2016 because McConnell has be an absolute failure -- for conservatives.]
