Well, there was Occupy Wall Street where a lot of university students decided to go crazy in New York. Then all over the country.

My guess is that the officers lives and careers are ruined, no matter what the outcome of the trial.

Lay aside the disgraceful grandstanding by the woman child. Freddie Gray was badly injured while in police custody. It is reported that protocols were not observed for securing the prisoner. Also it is reported that the original timeline had omitted a stop.

I hope this is of no consequence - that there was no negligence or synching of stories and the injury was an unavoidable accident.

I do not see enough of actual facts to make an opinion on whether they are overcharged or not. I assume that at some point, Gray stopped raising a ruckus. It is important to know the reaction of the cops at that point. Did they stop and check him out? Can they see their prisoners at all times?

I can see that the false imprisonment hangs on the charge that the arrest itself was illegal. If it was a good bust, that and the assault charges would go away. If it was a bad bust, those charges stick.

But, we’re still left with the transport that did not follow protocol, opening up at least negligent manslaughter (if there is such a thing). So Murder-2 may indeed have been an overcharge - just a bone to the mob.
