May Day protests grew violent in Oakland on Friday night after a day of passionate but peaceful rallies on both sides of the bay all influenced by a decision in Maryland to prosecute six officers accused of brutality.

You would think that at least a couple of the protesters would be carrying hand made signs to at least leave the impression that theses were grass roots protests instead of being astroturfed. Communist’s do make very nice looking signs though.
If the protesters burn down oakland, will anyone miss it?

The new mayor of Oakland said today, "A very small group of people with rocks in their pockets and malice in their hearts disturbed what was otherwise a very positive day in Oakland." I wonder what she would say if something like this had happened with a group of alleged Tea Partiers.
