AUSTIN -- Governor Greg Abbott, R-TX, says he's trying to bring calm to some Texans about a military exercise that will take place in Texas and six other states.
The eight-week exercise, known as Jade Helm 15, will begin July 15 and involves U.S. Specials Operations Forces such as Navy Seals and Green Berets. They will use public and private lands to train for overseas missions.
The prospect of armed federal troops in Texas has ignited a host of concerns and speculation about the military's motives -- ranging from the military's intention to impose martial law to a government conspiracy to launch a hostile takeover of Texas to taking away people's gun rights.
[snip] "It's so important to understand that there probably is no state in America that is more deeply connected to the military or honors the military more. And my office has been in communication with military at multiple levels, and we have the greatest assurances that these are normal military operations and they're going to work out just fine," Abbott said.
The Jade Helm 15 exercise will also take place in Arizona, New Mexico, California, and other southwestern states.

Maybe they can put that gathering of special forces and urban assault types to good use by collecting on some past due student loans or maybe enforcing environmental protection laws on private lands. I’d say that maybe they could enforce the border but we all know that this would be racist.
I find it interesting that Colorado has “opted out” of the exercise - the excuse is that the unit that was to train here is now not available.
If the purpose of this ‘exercise’ is to round up all the illegal aliens and politely (or not so politely) escort them all back to the south side of the Rio Grande . . . I’m all in!
If not, I see no reason for it.
OTOH, if it was being conducted by a government that I had full faith in - it is probably a good idea . . . at some point there could be an uprising that needs to be quelled - but hardly against Bible believing Christians and Tea Party conservatives.

The Jade Helm military exercise will be in more places in Texas than any other of these states involved in this exercise. I seem to remember six places in Texas and I had all the locations in Texas noted at that time. I may have the names of the locations saved on my computer. Gov. Abbott is all over this, too.
Note ex-governor Perry has said Abbott is over reacting to this. He said he trusts our US military and wouldn't question these exercises.
Well, Perry is running for president so now he is in favor of what the US military does. If he were still governor, he would question these exercises. In other words, Texas was his main concern when governor but now he's running for president, so he has switched his allegiance from Texas to the whole US, so he isn't questioning the US military.
Perry isn't smart enough to realize Obama has the US military under his control and he will use it to his own ends. He has dumped numerous generals and lesser officers to put his picked people in those spots.
I would only trust the US military when Cruz is president and dumps Obama’s “yes” men and puts competent military officers in place. I doubt homosexual/cross dressers/sex changed/married homosexuals, officers would be chosen by Cruz to lead our military. Cruz will also dump the many muslims/homosexuals Obama has put in place in his administration.
The US military trains the way they expect to fight. The only question that needs to be answered about these exercises is, “Whom does the military expect to fight in America?”.
I’m thinking Jade Helm is a cover operation for cleaning out those camps.
I’m a little confused as I have been around the world three times. Can’t remember any place that look just like Texas! No not in Europe! No not in Asia! Maybe in the Middle East? No! It wasn’t North Africa Or South Africa as I remember! Nothing like Texas in South America! If I cannot think of place like Texas could it be TEXAS?
A legit military force needs to practice somewhere. If held in a federal or state park, that is one thing, but held on private property is something else.
Exactly. It sounds to me more like either a practice mission at taking over Texas or maybe a pre-emptive strike.
The Russians use the tactic of hiding the preparations for an invasion as a training exercise (like they did with Crimea) so it would make sense that Obama would do the same thing.

They keep them moving or concealed in out of the way spur tracks.
Please notice the flexible accordian structures between the cars. Is it reasonable to go to that extra cost unless there is a requirement for folks to move between the cars?

I think Dearborn, MI would be a better place to have this "exercise".
I took my basic infantry training in WWII at Camp Hood Texas. I believe/understand that Camp Hood now exists as Fort Hood. Question! How and where does Ft. Hood training fit into these new ‘training’ exercises?
Obama is the problem.
