Until these whiney asses go through a dust bowl, they need to stop their bitching and desalinate the ocean water that is in abundance directly to their west.

there is no water crisis only a leadership crisis.

Liberals have destroyed hundreds of dams to save fish.

Then, if that were not bad enough they let what little water was left go the to sea so save more fish.

Then, they welcomed in 10’s of millions of illegal aliens who collectively consume 1 trillion gallons of water each year.

Then, they yell CRISIS!!!!! when all the water is gone.

You want to solve this crisis? elect conservatives that will put people, and in particular current citizens first.

The whole country was buried in snow.
In the case of my Southern CA there was never the water to support populations in the south. For that reason before development there were water rights obtained from the north to the river and so forth.
My memory is that Jerry Brown his first two terms in his infinite stupidity gave back the water rights to two other states leaving us always at risk for being dry or charged through our @ss to buy it.
At this same time Jerry Brown also sabotaged CA further by getting unions into government employment and now we have all these retirement pensions for government workers we can’t afford either.

This article should read: ALL JERRY BROWN’S FAULT.

California has not seen anything quite like this in at least 1,200 years...

So, it’s been worse?

Meh. Imagine you have saved a bunch of money for a vacation and then your car blows its engine out of warranty. Goodby vacation, hello fixed engine.

i.e. goodby high speed rail, hello water desalinization.

I know; let's raise taxes and increase regulations and then will create a federal cabinet department>

That'll fix it!

Remember: "... generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth."

Obama didn't manage to make the seas recede, but he has worked his magic on Lake Mead.

I live in California our water problems are not from the drought it self it is from years of mismanaging our water resources her in California. the democratic party is more concerned with high speed rail in the central valley then it is with solving our water problems. where I live the water problems would be over if they would just stop divert the water they our sending into the San Francisco bay.

They should be more concerned, no, in an absolute panic, about the worldwide crisis of an AIR shortage!!!

Sure, people have been breathing air for years, even decades, but today, so many people are taking deep breaths, far more than their fair share, that soon we will reach PEAK AIR, and there won’t be any air left for people to breathe.

The only solution is a one world government run from the UN, paid for with international taxes for breathing, paid for by the modern industrial western nations, who breathe more than anyone else.

That’s because there wasn’t 20,000,000 people living in the middle of the deserts near the San Gabriel Mountains.

You overbuild, and this is what happens. We had a pretty serious drought in CA in the 1970’s too. Seven years in NorCal of rain less than 10 inches or so.

This is going to happen in CA. But hey, go ahead and build that new Intel plant in San Jose. They’ll find the 4M gallons per day of water somewhere.

I have read that the period California has been in the last 150 to 200 years has actually been an anomaly in that the west has always been dry and has had periods when it was more wet.
Some scientists believe that California is now entering the first stages of a mega-drought that may last who knows how long.

The orchardists in the Hood River Valley (Oregon) have been warned this is the worst drought “on record”.....Mt. Hood Snow water equivalent is 14 inches where normal is 48 inches. Hood River is running 40% below normal. Irrigation district is encouraging orchardists to reduce water use by 25%...so they won’t have to implement “extreme measures.” Will be an interesting year.
