Damage is estimated at $9 million for the destruction of hundreds of businesses and two homes during the recent unrest in Baltimore — with at least 30 sustaining major damage, according to information released Wednesday.

The Small Business Administration estimated the damaged at about $8.9 million to 284 business and $60,000 to two houses, officials told The Baltimore Sun.

U.S. Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski, along with other Maryland Democrats, called for Small Business Administration to assist with the creation of disaster centers in the city and a plan to inform business owners who are eligible for benefits about how to apply for assistance.

Many of the damaged businesses have limited or no insurance coverage, according to the BDC. Some of the most severely damaged businesses remain closed, and their owners have no source of income.

I believe I heard that the Baltimore YOOTS torched around 200 vehicles.

That’s probably at least $2 to $3 million right there.

She just got her words mixed up - she meant to say “dance” instead of “destroy’.

You know how tricky those “D” words can be sometimes.

Yep. Sue the mayor personally along with the city if your business was torn up by the criminally exempt on her watch...

That doesn’t count the damage to real estate prices, which will take a hit all over the city. Fergueson, MO house prices collapsed by 50%.

200 dollars worth of .308 ammo would have prevented all damages.

Why not total up the entire cost of riots, and deduct it from all Baltimore welfare checks, maybe they will think twice in the future.

I’m sure our masters in Washington will figure out how to get the taxpayers to pay for this mob destruction. It’s all part of “reparations”, or something.

“”to assist with the creation of disaster centers in the city””

Isn’t this what their hoodlums were doing during the riots? Barbara didn’t like the results? Too bad! They’re yours, they put you in office so live with it!

I think some insurances don’t cover for loss if it was caused by a riot.
