Fox News Poll: Huckabee seen as more ethical than most, Clinton less
Fox News ^ | 05/14/2015 | Dana Blanton

Hillary Clinton wins! Except this is one race she’d rather lose. The former secretary of state and current presidential aspirant tops the list as being “less ethical” than other politicians.

GOP candidate and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is on top as being “more ethical” than others.

That’s according to the latest Fox News poll that asks voters to rate several announced and unannounced 2016 contenders as being more or less ethical than “most other politicians.”

Some 44 percent of voters think Clinton is less ethical than the typical politician. She’s followed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 37 percent “less ethical.”

On the other side, Huckabee (36 percent “more ethical”) and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (33 percent “more ethical”) are each considered more ethical than the average politician by about one third of voters.

The poll also finds that more than a third of voters (37 percent) are “very” concerned scandals would disrupt a Hillary Clinton administration if she were to win. That’s about twice as many as feel that way if a Republican were to win the White House (19 percent).

Still, more than half are at least somewhat worried scandals would have a “serious effect” on either a Clinton (61 percent) or a Republican administration (51 percent).

Just over half of voters are following news about the Clinton Foundation accepting financial donations from foreign governments while Clinton was secretary of state. Among only those following the news, 74 percent are worried about scandals if Clinton wins.

Overall, a 57 percent majority says it is likely Clinton was influenced by foreign contributors while she was at the State Department.

That makes no sense, none at all. Of course you called me non-Christian - your statement makes no sense unless that was precisely your point. Why else would I “fear” someone who is openly Christian.

What I have a problem with is someone who is openly legalistic, openly stupid, openly ignorant, and openly a shill for the GOP e to anyone who is paying attention.

I don’t think Huck would ram religion down anybody’s throat. He probably wouldn’t promote Christianity much more than Reagan did.

But I like knowing that Huck’s values are grounded in Christianity, and not some party platform or some media poll. That’s a big plus in my buck.

Cruz and Walker might be too, I don’t know. But they’ve got you cheerleading for them, and you liked Romney, so that’s ain’t so good.

Huckabee has religion ...

This is what raises my dislike for Huck. This is his "calling card" ... as a politician(!) I don't 'fear' Huckabee. He is clearly a pandering phony. He uses his religion for personal gain and political purposes. He wears his "religion" on his sleave like a televangelist.

If he were truly authentically Christian, I would have much greater acceptance of the rest of his sorry record.

Huck hasn’t exactly hidden from his Christianity.

i never liked Romney you moron - this isn’t about Romney - it’s about trying to explain to the ignorant what a shyster Huck is. I know, you struggle with analogy.

And Huck’s entire persona is about ramming religion down peoples’ throats. He can accomplish only two things here...siphon some low info Evangelical votes from better candidates, and get another media gig afterwards.

Ethics is why he helped Obama get elected the first time? No huckter!

Gov Huckabee was running against McCain. That was a good thing.

The Republican Elites elected Obama when they picked McCain.

The Republican Elites are going to elect Hillary the same way unless they realize that Gov Huckabee beat the Clinton Machine at the height of the Clinton power.

"If he were truly authentically Christian,"

I don't see anything to indicate that Huck's not an authentic Christian. You use the moniker "Servant of the Cross" and sit in judgment on this man's heart?

You are right; the American people cannot even define ethics.

I can think of one, he eliminated the marriage penalty...ooooo....horrors!

If the Bible is good enough for Pres. Reagan why isn't it okay for Gov. Huckabee?

"Within the covers of that single book [the Bible] are all the answers to all the problems that face us today, if we'd only read and believe." - President Ronald Reagan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYFk9A62Q0c

Ok, well you kind of led us there.

We are to discern the spirits, but you need some strong evidence to call someone an “unauthenic Christian” and I don’t think you have it on Huckabee. He may wear it on his sleeve, but he seems pretty authentic to me.

"what part of “persona” do you not understand?"

The part where you claim is entire persona is about ramming religion down people's throats, but can't give me a single action as governor where he did that.

I originally supported Huckabee, but switched to Cruz because I thought him to be a better candidate. However, I still think Huckabee is OK and would support him when the time calls for it. For now, I am backing Cruz.

I am really SICK of all the nut jobs (actually they are haters of Southern Conservative Evangelical Christians) that spend their time bashing Huckabee and insulting those that back him. A great deal of the stuff they say is a sinful “bearing false witness.” I especially get irritated by the “Elmer Gantry” slanders. I also get sick of the comparisions to Gomer Pyle, etc. ALL of which are insulting of Southerners. Also, it is just a plain lie when those here say his is just there to help split the vote...that is another plain lie.

Although my current first choice is Cruz, I am glad Huckabee is in the race. I believe he will help keep things focused on the RIGHT and not let the party drift left. I am NOT concerned about him “splitting” the religious conservative vote...I think he will ultimately help unify it....maybe even to back Cruz, or himself if he can stay in the race.

As it looks right now, Ted Cruz is not doing that well. All will be well though. Cruz or Huckabee will be fine by me.
