ORLANDO, Fla. — Police in Lake Mary have arrested a Winter Springs man on charges related to a shooting that took place Monday involving George Zimmerman.
Matthew Apperson, 35, turned himself in Friday evening, police spokeswoman Bianca Gillett said.
Apperson was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and firing a deadly missile into an occupied conveyance.
"After conducting numerous interviews throughout the week, detectives determined that Mr. Apperson did intentionally fire his weapon into the vehicle occupied by George Zimmerman without provocation," Gillett said in a statement.
Apperson is accused of firing into a car Zimmerman was in on Monday. Zimmerman had only minor injuries from glass cutting his face.

“During the investigation, I learned that Apperson has exhibited unusual behaviors in which he had recently been admitted to a mental institution. It appears that Apperson has a fixation on Zimmerman and has displayed some signs of paranoia, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.”

Sounds like Apperson kept trying to SWAT Zimmerman, accusing him of all kinds of things, in hopes that the cops would shoot Zimmerman dead. And the media has tried to fan this impression.
Better yet - Jorge shot by white man. Hispanics outraged.
This attempted murder shooting is getting the strangest reporting, it sounds so bland and passionless, and even as though it was like a bar scuffle between consenting drunks or something.

That should be the starting charge, with an openness to plea down to the other charges to avoid a trial.

There must not have been anyway they could pin it on George. I see that they charged him with the lesser charges. the charge should have been attempted murder in the first degree.
Apperson will probably plead insanity.
