Italian Official Under Fire For Allegedly Calling Female Footballers ‘A Bunch of Lesbians’
Marcus Christenson 16 May 2015 An Italian football official is under pressure to resign after allegedly referring to female players as a “bunch of lesbians”. Felice Belloli, the president of the county’s amateur football association, allegedly made the comments when discussing funding for women’s football in the country.
The Italian Football Association (FIGC) opened an investigation on Friday after it was sent the minutes of the meeting of the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti (LND). Belloli allegedly said: “That’s enough, we can’t always talk about giving money to this bunch of lesbians,” but on Friday denied having used those words. “I never signed those minutes,” Belloli told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Can you see my signature on them? No, and I can tell you why – because minutes can be taken and amended by anybody. I know how the minutes are taken at the LND. All I am saying is that I did not utter that phrase.”
However, Sonia Pessotto, a former player and a member of the council that looks after women’s football for the FIGC, said on Friday that she was at the meeting and that Belloli had used the term. “I was there and he did use the phrase ‘bunch of lesbians’. Now he has to resign from his position as the president of the amateur football association.”
Luisa Rizzitelli, the president of Assist, the national association for female athletes, agreed that Belloli should resign. “We don’t consider the word lesbian to be offensive, but in this context it is unacceptable and homophobic,” she told Tutto Sport. “Obviously, the Italian women’s team winning bronze in the World Cup last year is not enough for him to respect athletes in this discipline, their coaches and managers.”

A friend played soccer in a female adult league, and described when the play got a little rough the lesbians would team up (even if on opposing sides), coming to each other’s defense. Didn’t get the impression it was a majority of them; she has since moved on & married.
There are a lot of adult leagues/teams for men in my area (Kearny NJ was called “Soccertown USA” after three residents started for the 1994 US World Cup team); I don’t see any leagues around for women (much of the population is Latin American now, and I don’t think their women would seriously consider playing as adults - they barely play as kids).
They know what it means to lick your opponent.
So tell me again why it’s homophobic to acknowledge that a group of lesbians playing soccer would be offended by being called by the name of the group that they most identify with?
I spent several months in a small town in Georgia. I had never watched a soccer game but happened to watch a girl’s game with a friend.
Just about every girl was hot and there were a couple who were just about as pretty as a girl gets. I found out later that one was the daughter of a former “Miss Georgia”.

That name has already been taken and split between the WPGA and the U.S. Women’s Vollyball association.

It was sickening watching the older lesbos covert the young players into being lesbo. This is when I decided not not Play soccer. IMO for most women, being queer is a choice.
I dunno, being part Indian (feather) and Italian with high cheekbones, I’ve noticed over the years lesbos most seem to have flat faces and squinty eyes, squared facial bones for some reason. Our high school coach was super-butch in the early 80s and we hated it when she came in the locker room.

What is the PC term than? A pod of lesbians? A herd of lesbians? A murder of lesbians? A warren of lesbians? A flock of lesbians? What do a group of lesbians want to be called?
I vote for warren of lesbians...
