Divorce Case Beauty Queen ‘Asked For £500,000 To Leave Her First Husband’ Ekaterina Parfenova’s lawyer husband has eye on a sixth marriage but admits: ‘Money can’t buy you love’
By John Bingham 15 May 2015 A Russian actress and beauty queen at the centre of a £6 million divorce battle pressed her husband to give her half a million pounds before they even officially began their relationship, the Family Court in London has heard. Ekaterina Parfenova, a former child film star and model, is said to have asked Richard Fields, an American lawyer, for the cash before she would leave her first husband for him.
She also received a $1 million (£633,000) pay-off from the man, a wealthy banker, when they divorced and she went on to marry Mr Fields in 2002, Mr Justice Holman was told.
Mr Fields – who is now hoping to marry for the sixth time – said he had given Ms Parfenova the money because he was “madly in love” and wanted her to leave her husband but now acknowledged that “money can't buy you love”.

He said she told him she needed the cash because she could not “make ends meet”.
Ms Parfenova is now vying for a £2.6 million share of their estimated £6 million assets plus an annual payout of up to £750,000.
