MARION COUNTY --
An apparent planned attack on the Eustis Police Department was thwarted Monday after Marion County investigators found 22 firearms, several containers of black powder, bulletproof vests and drugs inside a shed.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office's Crime Suppression Unit received information Friday concerning illegal firearms and explosives stored at a home.
Investigators said they received information that a rocket propelled grenade launcher and missiles were being stored in a safe that was located inside a shed on the property.
"The occupants of the shed intended to use the rocket launcher on the Eustis Police Department on May 18," the release states.
Deputies identified the suspects Monday as Christopher Conger, 32, and Jeremy Robertson, 29. The two were found in the shed Friday and arrested, the sheriff's office said.
According to investigators, the Eustis Police Department was targeted because of recent run-ins with their officers.
Eustis police Chief Fred Cobb said he was "blindsided" by news of the planned attack

Such a wholesome looking pair.
Wasn't Conger the last name of the runaway bride?
I know it wasn't the astronaut/attempted murderer woman who wore the diaper, but the name was in the news a few years ago.
I was really expecting a cyber attack from him.
I’d investigate Boyd Crowder.

Somebody is doing a little ex post facto editing.
The Posted Excerpt clearly cites an informant advising of weapons, including a ROCKET LAUNCHER, in a safe, in the shed.
The current version of the story at the link waters down that line to discuss either the informant or the rocket launcher.
So, the big story is that their information was that there was a rocket launcher, but there doesn’t appear to be a rocket launcher. At least, the pictures with the deputy with his hands in his pockets don’t show one. Am I missing something? All I see is your standard bunch of cheap pistols, one AR, one hunting rifle and a couple shotguns.
I smell an investigation/operation one hell of a lot bigger than this blurb would indicate.
Cogeners are byproducts of fermentation, some claim them as a primary cause of hangover.

There was no mention of a rocket launcher being found.
Two suspects, Christopher Conger and Jeremy Robertson, were taken into custody.
Authorities said they’re searching for a third man in connection with the case. They only know that the man goes by the name “Rhino.”
Investigators said they dont know whether Rhino has the grenade launcher or if it even exists.
They did say the informant was right about everything else.
I don't know which stands out more, no rocket launcher, or the look on that sluoch's face with his hands in his pocket.
One of the revolvers, the one with the brass frame on the lower left is a cheap replica of an 1851 Colt .36 cal cap 'n ball pistol from Cabela's and the one with the ivory grips above it looks like an 1880s Otis .32 rimfire revolver.
Marion county police to hold news conference soon:
Oh, and that’s not black powder in the round can on the table, it is Pyrodex, a black powder substitute.
“Oh, and thats not black powder”
These things always come out so disappointing. So these felons, who don’t even have a rocket launcher, needed pyrodex for their cheap cap and ball pistol and the world needs to care. Sure, probably illegal, but only because society thinks felons shouldn’t be able to defend themselves, their families or their drug stashes but should be able to vote.
Remember those pictures of grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and tactical vests marked “Policia” that they took from the Mexican cartels? The ones they told us were caused by lax US gun laws? Those were better.
I've got a better collection under my bed.
LOL! I think a lot of Freepers do too.
NONE of which is illegal. So sick of this "guilt by size of 'arsenal'" crap.
22 firearms is a good start on a collection.
So an arsenal? Was it in a compound, now?
