City crime spike. A dramatic increase in violence in Baltimore. Dozens of shooting and murders in the last few weeks following the riots last month. Christie Ileto reports some are concerned police are hesitant to crack down after six officers were charged in the death of Freddie Gray.

Not really alarming. Pretty much situation normal for Baltimore. Its a dangerous town.
And no reports in National news about the everyday murders of blacks in Chicago by other blacks.

CHICAGO —
Two men were killed and at least 47 other people, including an 81-year-old woman, were wounded in shootings across Chicago between Friday afternoon and Monday morning.
When is someone going to ask the mayor of DA about that?
They reap what they sow
I bet similar is going on in NYC and St. Louis
Just givin’ em space to destroy.
I’m at a point that let them kill themselves.
I also read some data that suggests that very recently, there has been a dramatic surge in the number of murders and shootings at the Waco Twin Peaks, which also happens to be a state mandated Gun Free Zone.
For the year in NYC, murder is up 10% and shootings are up 9% from the same time last year.
It will end when the citizens of these cities police themselves. Otherwise it is a never ending problem that will only get worse.
If I were a Baltimore officer, I would be profoundly disinterested in any “gangsta on gangsta” violence which didn’t harm innocent bystanders.
I’m really trying to give a shi’ite....really.
I wonder how many of the police officers in Baltimore are looking elsewhere for employment.
At least the Crips and the Bloods seem to be poorer shots than the Cossacks and the Bandidos.

War on Cops! ...how's that working for ya?
Can’t blame the cops for taking a wait-and-call-a-lawyer attitude.
Maybe they should call the DA on a case-by-case basis and ask her when and whether they should do their jobs.
Perhaps the mayor and company want Baltimore to be more like the southside of Chicago.
The ghetto is a dangerous place. The ghetto is different. Feral behavior is the norm there. In ghetto culture, the worst thing you can do to someone is “diss” or disrespect them. And the response to being dissed is violence.
Toss in the whole gang and drug culture, drug deals gone bad and people wanting revenge, poor impulse control, looking at somebody the wrong way, looking at someone’s girl the wrong way, and you have a recipe for the violence we see among ghetto people. And is any of this racist when it’s black on black violence???
Come on. It gets a little more polite every day...
Some communities are hiring off-duty police to protect them, knowing that the city will not.

Jewish Neighborhood Hires Off-Duty Officers, Chicago Police Doesn’t Like It

WEST ROGERS PARK — After a series of attacks and anti-Semitic threats, Jewish families in West Rogers Park have lined up their own security force of off-duty Chicago police officers to patrol the neighborhood.
But the neighborhood’s top police officers are unhappy about the move, saying they don’t want residents to get a false sense of security.
The armed officers set up outside Jewish institutions and use personal cars to drive through a 16-block chunk of West Rogers Park during the weekly Sabbath and holidays when the Orthodox community members typically don’t carry phones or drive.
Resident David Kamish, 41, organized the patrols and collects $25 a month from more than 25 families to pay the officers. The project’s budget is currently $800 a month and goes exclusively to pay off-duty officers assigned to the Rogers Park Police District, he said.
“The police officers are grossly underpaid and certainly under-appreciated,” Kamish said. “And we just want to continue working with them and being appreciative of their efforts — whether it be off duty or on duty.”
