I’ve Read Obama’s Secret Trade Deal. Elizabeth Warren Is Right to Be Concerned.
Politico ^ | May 19th, 2015 | By MICHAEL WESSEL

Posted on 05/19/2015 1:59:22 PM PDT by Mariner

“You need to tell me what’s wrong with this trade agreement, not one that was passed 25 years ago,” a frustrated President Barack Obama recently complained about criticisms of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). He’s right. The public criticisms of the TPP have been vague. That’s by design—anyone who has read the text of the agreement could be jailed for disclosing its contents. I’ve actually read the TPP text provided to the government’s own advisors, and I’ve given the president an earful about how this trade deal will damage this nation. But I can’t share my criticisms with you.

I can tell you that Elizabeth Warren is right about her criticism of the trade deal. We should be very concerned about what's hidden in this trade deal—and particularly how the Obama administration is keeping information secret even from those of us who are supposed to provide advice.

So-called “cleared advisors” like me are prohibited from sharing publicly the criticisms we’ve lodged about specific proposals and approaches. The government has created a perfect Catch 22: The law prohibits us from talking about the specifics of what we’ve seen, allowing the president to criticize us for not being specific. Instead of simply admitting that he disagrees with me—and with many other cleared advisors—about the merits of the TPP, the president instead pretends that our specific, pointed criticisms don’t exist.

All of this ink spilled to criticize Obama but nary a word about the criminal Republicans in the Senate.

When Politico dares to speak ill of their chosen one you know the deal is really, really rotten.

The whole trade deal legislation could be more disturbing than 0bamacare. With 0bamacare, there were the “good guys” and “bad guys” I felt comfortable with. The GOP opposed it, the democrat/socialists supported it. That was a bright line. But with the trade deal, how do I trust the GOP who are in bed with 0bama on this? And why do I find myself inclined to agree with Elizabeth Warren and Donald Trumka? Ick....I need to take a shower.

Very disturbing indeed.

I automatically distrust anything from Obama, but, I also distrust anything from the Politico because of their leftist bias.

"Very disturbing indeed."

And most disturbing of all is the fact that all the details associated with a TRADE deal are Classified and anyone who reveals any of those details would be charged with a Felony.

And prosecuted.

And, all Republicans, Obama and 1/2 the Democrats are in on it.

The damage to the Constitution could not be more severe.

It sets the standard for abuse of power.

They should man up and spill the details en masse. Let sh*thead just try to prosecute all of them.

That was obvious when the "GOP" took over both houses and voted to defund 0bamacare.

Oh wait...

how would that ever hold up in court? A yet unapproved trade agreement that is secret?? Approve it in order to find out what's in it? How'd that work out for the people re the obozo care? If Sarah Palin ever gets in the WH she will seek justice on that POS that is there now and likely most of those in congress.

Politico is calling Obama dishonest.

Something is very wrong here. There are no details about the trade bill available for the American people to review. Politico and Obama are both liars. But usually Politico endorses every lie the Obama administration come up with.

This trade deal is a trojan horse. God knows what is in it. I am going to write to my democrat congresswoman and I am going to tell her to listen to Barbara Boxer and vote no. I cannot believe that I am agreeing with that excreble yenta Boxer. She right on this trade pack for the wrong reasons, but she is right this one and only time.

The trade deal might have *wonderful* provisions.

But who dares to trust the Obama administration not to have some really, really bad details in there. Details that give them even more power than they have already stolen.

If this guy is so righteous, maybe he should risk jail to expose the truth.

nobama has about 18 months left. I've had very large doubts about some of the things he has said in the past.

Now, with so little time left, I'm not believing ANYTHING he says, PERIOD.

The last couple of months of his presidency (small p on purpose) are going to be utter Hell for this country. Pardons, shenanigans, illegal stuff out the wazoo. He and the wookie are going to make the Clinton's final days look like a picnic. It ain't gonna be pretty. I pray to the Lord we will survive it.

Then state the specific objections and ignore Obama's rule of secrecy. Obama breaks all the rules he wants. The guy should issue his own Executive Order to disclose what he knows and screw Obama. Get another job Moron. no sense to whining to us.

I was curious who Michael was since he’s a “special advisor” so I binged him.

Has his own consulting firm, he worked for Gephardt and has held positions in the US Gov’t. wrt trade, including with China.

Hardly what one could call a right-wing extremist

Look for him to appoint one of the terrorists at Gitmo as head of the Board Of Education for our country as part of a new REACH OUT PROGRAM.
