The official Democratic Party Twitter account, @TheDemocrats, is being slammed by a media figure who himself has a history as a Democrat operative. Jake Tapper of CNN has, by almost all accounts, worked hard (harder than George Stephanopoulos by the evidence) to be fair toward Republicans, despite having once worked as press secretary for Chelsea Clinton’s mother-in-law Majorie Margolies-Mezvinsky, when she was a liberal Democrat member of the House of Representatives. Of course, Tapper did appear on the Clinton Foundation website as a speaker at an event, only to have that mention go poof! and disappear in the wake of the Stephanopoulos scandal. But blame for that appears to lie with the Foundation, which touted an interview for broadcast as an appearance.
In any event, Tapper, who has a history of supporting veterans, really slammed Obama and the Dems. Via The Right Scoop:

Re. Jake Tapper’s “family friend,” Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky.

Tapper had read in the newspaper that Margolies-Mezvinsky, a family friend, was running for Congress. He called the house, and she immediately invited him over.
“You know, when you think about a political campaign, you picture this giant, organized machine,” Tapper said. “I got over there, and it was just Marjorie and two women sitting there talking.”
Tapper helped her with speeches, planning events, and “fell into” working with the press. After her primary victory, he joined her staff full time, where he has gained a reputation for bombarding media outlets with forests of shiny fax paper.
“I was seeing the fax machine in the beginning, but it was never a serious relationship. I really fell in love with my fax modem,” he quips.
After the election, Tapper asked Margolies-Mezvinsky on a train ride to Washington if he could be her press secretary. She agreed.
Margolies-Mezvinsky says she has known Tapper “since he was in the womb” and sometimes has to remind herself not to act like a doting relative. But she says Tapper instantly proved his worth early on in the campaign with his resourcefulness combined with a healthy sense of humor.
“I can’t say enough nice things about him without sounding like his mother,” Margolies-Mezvinsky said. “I had been in the media for 25 years, and I had gotten dozens of calls from friends after I won who wanted to work as press secretary. When Jake came to me and said, ‘I want to go to Washington,’ it was crystal clear to me that, despite all these people I had worked with in the field, he would be wonderful here, he would be just fine.”

(But you could also blame the Foundation's compulsive lying habit--seems it touted a Tapper interview for broadcast as "an appearance.")

Edward "Ed" Mezvinsky is an ex-Democrat congressman.....and a convicted felon. Ed sat on the House Judiciary Committee that decided the fate of Richard Nixon. He was outspoken saying that Nixon was a crook and a disgrace to politics and the nation and should be impeached.
Edward, a lawyer, was married when he met Chelsea's MIL, Marjorie----they soon got married---but divorced after Edward got conned into several notorious Nigerian-based email financial frauds guaranteed to make you rich.
In his haste to get rich quick, to raise money to get in on these "heaven-sent" investment schemes, Edward defrauded many of his friends and business contacts.....including Marjorie's mother.
Alas, when the Nigerians got their hands on Edwards' money, they did a 23 skidoo. Having failed to come up w/ a ROI, Edward got nabbed by the long arm of the law. Mezvinsky pleaded guilty to 31 of 69 felony counts.. He did hard time----spent 7+ years in a federal prison w/ no chance of parole, and still owes $10 million in restitution.
Democrat Congressman 2014 candidate Marjory Margolies is also no stranger to the dollar disease. Because of her husband's felony convictions, she filed for bankruptcy. But the court would NOT discharge her of her debts, finding that she could NOT explain where some $1 million in assets had vanished, in the previous 4 year span...during Mezvitsky's crime spree.
In their heyday, Ed Mezvinsky and then-wife Marjorie, herself a former Democratic congresswoman from Pennsylvania (an ex-TV reporter---and recent election loser), were part of the political and social elite in Philadelphia.
The Mezvinskys were close to Bill and Hillary Clinton and were frequent guests at the White House. Prosecutors say Mezvinsky exploited his ties to the Clintons, including his son's relationship with Chelsea, to woo investors to contribute more money to the Nigerian schemes.
In an interview with Des Moines Register from prison in 2003, Mezvinsky said he found the notoriously fraudulent Nigerian Black Ink scam "convincing."
STILL A BELIEVER "The Nigerian man came out with a chemical, threw it on the money, and it all turned to $100 bills. He gave me 10 to have them tested back home. And they were real," Mezvinsky told a reporter.
