I disagree. The "question of when life begins" was not a question but purely the prerogative of God. Life begins when God begins it. To audaciously imagine such a flippant question, at any layer of polity, and then dare to answer it is an echo of our original sin: deciding what is good or evil.

We know in our God given conscience that murder is a sin against God. As we are weighed in the balance and found wanting, we will find that the heap of our sinful imaginations and opinions have no mass whatsoever.

Well, if when life begins is a decision for God and not the polity to make on this plane existence, he’d better speak up. Otherwise, it is indeed left to us.

That "assurance" has been made for almost twenty centuries. In the meantime, people need to live their lives.

And the 1.5 or so billion Muslims? They have "assurances," too. And the 1 billion Hindus? And 1.1 billion atheists? And the 400 million Shenists? And the 400 million Buddhists?

Please be serious.

We don't all agree that God has told us anything at all, let alone agree on what it is. Human governance cannot be based on your beliefs.
