It's time we have a holiday to honor those who try to stop wars, too (MASSIVE HURL!)

Memorial Day and Veterans Day often get equated, but there is an essential distinction between the two. Veterans Day honors all who have served the American military in wars. Memorial Day honors those who've perished. It's an annual reminder that wars have grave human costs, which must be both recognized and minimized.

Those costs are not inevitable. We ought to also set aside time to remember those throughout American history who have tried hardest to reduce them, to prevent unnecessary loss of life both American and foreign: war resisters.

War resistors can be heroes....

I think less of you, because of that post. I'd have thought such stupidity was beneath you.

I associate that "joke" with nasty small-souled pusillanimous faggots like the author of the original posted article.

The way to end wars is to win them. Decisively.

I guess they want to make Bowe Bergdahl a national hero.

I can’t decide between Capitulation Day, Surrender Day or Pansy Day.

National Pansy Day has a ring to it though...

The people who fight wars against tyrants and evil regimes are the ones trying to stop war. You win the war, the war stops.

Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God.”

Corinthians 14:33New International Version (NIV)

33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.

The only way to peace has been rejected by many of those shout the loudest for peace.

  1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
  2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
  3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength. …
And why wouldn’t the über-leftists at Vox not want to achieve the goals of communists?

The original of this shopworn chestnut came from an article in Playboy Magazine back in the late 60s/ early 70's titled "Military Intelligence is to intelligence as military music is to music."

It was popular among pimple faced New Left imbeciles who thought they could cover their porn habit by reciting a stupid title, or its juvenile derivatives. That's the company you're in, dredging it up at this late date. Just so you know.

I’m all for it because the greatest peacemakers in the history of the world have been the American GI’s. Wherever they have gone, peace has followed, with exception of Vietnam and Obama years when politics trumped the military.

Can’t look at the truth or falsity of the assertion can we?

We must smear by association must we?

I totally agree that we should have a national holiday for someone who stopped a war.

That’s why I think August 6 should be a holiday in honor of Adam Baum.

I think Neville Chamberlain Day has already been grabbed by the Brits. Maybe we could celebrate obama’s Noel Piece Pries with Obama Day.
