“Today,” one fish said to another, “I think it’s a good day for humaning. Want to come along?”
“Nope, I prefer to get mine from the supermarket.”

Sometimes the bear gets you . . .
My husband caught a Swordfish, kind of rare in the Gulf of Mexico. We and our guests caught several Blue Marlin and quite a few Sailfish. Much fun, good memories.

The Red Snapper! ;0)
My father loved to fish in the ocean. He always carried a billy club on the boat. As soon as any fish was brought on board, he conked it with the club to put it out of its misery.
I’m not expecting a fish to be smart. It’s a fish. But I do think the one who IS supposed to be smart would not equate his intelligence as measured by using fishing gear over catching a dumb fish.
The fish, instead of trying to prove his intelligence is merely trying to survive using all he has.
