The President of the United States, like millions of other people, tweeted Caitlyn Jenner today after the unveiling of the cover of Vanity Fair. After enduring hours of facial feminization surgery, breast augmentation, and hormone therapy, the one-time Olympic gold medalist poses on the cover in a one-piece white corseted lingerie outfit that reportedly cost $300. The caption reads, “Call Me Caitlyn.”

According to E! Online, the president reached out to Caitlyn Jenner to congratulate her on her “courage” hours after the reveal of Jenner’s cover photo.
President Obama’s tweet was among the tweets that Caitlyn received on the first day her account was activated, which reached one million followers in Guinness World Record time, four hours and three minutes.

Others to offer their support of Jenner via social media on Monday included Anna Kendrick, Kerry Washington, Monica Lewinsky, Maria Shriver, Hoda Kotb, and Ellen DeGeneres.
DeGeneres tweeted, “My hope for the world is that we can all be as brave as @Caitlyn_Jenner.”

What we are seeing here is horrific. Bruce Jenner has descended a long way into mental illness, and he is being made into a freak show by the media.
We can look back on the 19th century treatment of the mentally ill and be horrified at some of the abuse they suffered in mental hospitals under the guise of treating them. But it takes only a little contemplation to realize that the treatment of the sexually-related mentally ill is just as cruel and barbaric.
Is there no psychiatrist who can treat Jenner (and others like him) and get to the roots of why he is so unhappy being himself?

I shake my head in disbelief - never would I have imagined that a president of The United States of America would have congratulated a sad and sick case of such a lost human being.
It’s sad really. I’m guessing he’ll end up with many more magazine covers. The last one with something like “Jenner found dead .....”

Not good. We used to live around the corner from Christine Jorgenson and he looked horrible in his 50s. I would have guessed he was in his 70s. He always wore way too much makeup and always wore a caftan. Gave me the creeps and I hated to have my kids exposed to him, but there was nothing I could do about it.
And we wonder why this country is so screwed up when the freaks and many people “worship” this kind of activities instead of their own survival, world wars, unemployment, homeless and even “Black Lives Matter”. IMO, the media has much of this on their shoulders as they have difficulty finding anything of more importance to write about.

Neither would I. But President Bush didn't congratulate Bruce Jenner on his mental illness, and I'm sure President Cruz won't do it either. As for the former junior US Senator allegedly from Illinois, Barry Obama, I don't see a connection between his tweeting and statements from a real president.
