I don’t think she can withhold the report from the defense due to the rules of discovery; I believe she is trying to keep it from being released to the public or trying to delay the discovery process. Eventually, the defense will get the report. Lessons learned from Ferguson.
Oh, I agree with you - I think she’s trying to avoid more public criticism, not avoid the defense attorneys - that’s a train collision she can’t avoid. She’s under intense public criticism by some pretty reputable people in the legal sphere for how she’s (mis)handled all this and I think she’s trying to avoid any more. My speculation is that releasing the autopsy report will likely add to that criticism and she’s fairly desperate get out from under the scrutiny, questioning of her motives (political) and calls for her to be recused & for changes in venue, thus she’s trying to keep it hushed up.

Eventually she is going to have to release the autopsy report to the defense team. She probably wants a gag order in place first before she releases it to them so they are prevented from releasing it to the media when it shows Gray had more drugs in his system than a 5 alarm system has alarm bells.What proof is there that Gray had a fractured anything other than the press reporting it before an autopsy was done. Was the fracture an urban myth that was sensationalized by the media causing these riots on behalf of just another street punk who od ed in a paddy wagon? Lots of questions to be answered.
She's definitely scrambling for all the reasons you listed, but eventually, won't those same issues catch up to her? Is she just delaying the inevitable?

Bet the autopsy says he was infected with HIV from intravenous injection of heroin and had brittle bones (Osteoporosis0 from HIV medication.
She is over her head, but she would be there even as a first day law student. Obviously an affirmative action admittance to whatever law school she attended.

Yes, but she’s going to ride this horse until it drops dead. She was pretty much a no-name, but this case is making her with the radical Left/Dems. The Leftists will take care of her with something nice and cushy. She’s following the “Obama Model” - doesn’t matter the demonstrated incompetence and ruin he leaves behind ... he’ll be celebrated, feted, and rake in tons of $$ because the great majority of the Left adores him. IMO, of course :-)

My guess is that when he slipped into that building (caught on video), that is when he swallowed the heroin (or whatever he had on him).
Then, while in the police van, he went unconscious and hit his head on the rear door bolts, which may have caused the damage to his neck. IIRC, he was in a coma for a week before he died.
