From earlier today....
Scripture allows for any activity. It is called free will.
What we do with our free will is entirely up to us. How we will be judged is up to a higher authority.
Okay, I started chuckling to myself after reading this. Homosexual activity is about NOT being monogamous.
In the mainline denominations, lay people are intentionally kept ignorant of Scripture, including having readings in church modified where they condemn sin such as homosexuality. So it’s no surprise that serpents like vines can deceive the laity, their own clergy in many instances are also doing that. Despite the fact that Scripture is crystal clear you cannot be an unrepentant homosexual and be saved.
Thanks for link downloading the MP3 now (a good deep discussion on a subject that Christians like me need to know more about to argue effectively).
Sodomy done wrong is nasty...
Done correctly is obscene..
Thought about can’t be unthought..
Watched is filthy.. and unclean..
Sodomy is prison entertainment..
Sodomy should be “wiped”.. and flushed..

“Scripture is crystal clear you cannot be an unrepentant homosexual and be saved.”
You cannot be an unrepentant sinner of any kind and be saved. Homosexuality is no different from theft, murder or gossip or coveting. The issue is repentance not the sin
Once again, he is no Christian. Sorry, try again. This is setting up an argument based entirely on false premises.
Homosexual Christian is an oxymoron, same as religion of peace to pigslam, this guy has itchy ears and thinks convincing those that don’t know scripture that homosexuality is not a sin is the same as being true in the bible. Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of the least of these commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven.
Vines is certsinly encountering resistance from this scriptural non scholar.
I dunno. Pointing out that God burned to death two cities full of Homosexuals seems to be a pretty good rebuttal if you ask me.
“You cannot be an unrepentant sinner of any kind and be saved. Homosexuality is no different from theft, murder or gossip or coveting. The issue is repentance not the sin.”
Well, no, the Bible is explicit that sexual sin is worse than certain other sins like gossip and coveting, because (1) it is a sin against your own body, and (2) it grieves the Holy Spirit, who cannot be present where there is sexual sin.
I agree that you cannot be an unreprentant sinner and be saved. But the point is that here it is preached that you can engage in homosexuality and live the homosexual lifestyle and still be a Christian.
If they were arguing that you can be a serial and unrepentant murderer and still be a Christian, that of course would be (still) mocked as being absurd. But the lie has been repeated enough with homosexuality and other sexual immorality that now people believe it. Homosexuality is only the foot in the door to mainstreaming all sorts of wickedness.
For example, in order to make engaging in homosexual acts permissible, the PCUSA amended its constitution to say that pastors, elders and deacons could also engage in adultery and fornication and remain in good standing as an ordained member of the denomination rather than being defrocked for sexual sin.
Tim Keller’s response to Matthew Vines- (good read)

It is true that being an unrepentant sinner will keep you from being saved, regardless of the sin. However, homosexuality is somewhat unique, in that the sinner's very identity becomes intertwined with their sin. In most cases, sin is what you do - for a homosexual, their sin defines who they are in a way that few other sins do.
Passage of time doesn’t make sodomy acceptable to a Holy God. According to Augustine, sodomy is a crime against nature. It is the crimes committed by, “.... the men of Sodom (and if) all nations in the world committed them they would all stand guilty of the same crime against the Law of God, which did not design men so that they should use each other this way.” (Confessions of St. Augustine, p. 49)
Romans 1:27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
This shows consenting male engaging in a sexual relationship. It’s a sin.
