If access to firearms were as easy as President Obama insisted in the aftermath of the South Carolina church massacre, Carol Bowne would be alive today. The 39-year-old New Jersey woman with a restraining order against an ex-boyfriend was murdered by that boyfriend while she waited for her application for a gun permit to wind its way through a process that takes at least two months to complete. But it wasn’t completed soon enough:
The Berlin Township woman got a restraining order against a former boyfriend, installed security cameras and an alarm system to her home and began the months-long process of obtaining a handgun, friends said.
But it wasn't enough.
Bowne, 39, was stabbed to death in the driveway of her Patton Avenue home on Wednesday night.
Browne was a victim of domestic violence, She didn’t have a gun in her home. Gun control zealots tells us a gun in the home is dangerous, but then so too is an ex-boyfriend, one Michael Eitel, with a knife. That is why gun rights advocate say that women should own guns because a restraining order is just a piece of paper. So she sought permission from the government to exercise her Second Amendment rights:
According to news reports, Eitel had previously went to the salon in Somerdale where she worked and broke the windows on Bowne's vehicle….
Bowne then went to Berlin Township police in mid-April to apply for a gun license. According to reports, she went to check on the process — which takes about two months to complete — as recently as this week.

Obama didn’t have Carol Bowne in mind when, on his way to another fund raiser, he addressed the nation and said the church shooting in Charleston said it was once again time talk about gun violence and easy access to firearms, even though Bowne’s case proves that for potential victims, access is not so easy.
Didn't he see any of the stories on the news about the attack on Charlie Hebdo?
Or is he implying France is not an advanced civilization?
Guess he must not have had the TV on that day. Whenever these things happen, I get a knot in my gut knowing that the millions, 10s of millions, of law abiding gun owners are in fact in control of their guns and will still get blamed for some miscreant POS misusing what is normally an inanimate object. Now, if it had been a machete, an axe, a sword, a gas bomb....... msm-—————meh! I really don’t like these people. I would have said folks but I think that’s now classified as a “code” word. I’m sure sarah is gazing up from down below with a smile on her lip.
Or, just as likely, he'd criticize the dead for provoking the attack by openly and unabashedly adhering to some hateful religious practices that their Crusader ancestors engaged in.

And blacks are ok with the muslim-in-cheif using the murder of 9 black Christians to further disarm any who might have been able to protect them. As a half-black Dem, he hates blacks, especially Christians.
Thanks for reminding me. If any of our Republican candidates had any gonads, they'd point out that The NRA was created to give freed slaves the right to defend themselves. C'mon, Ted Cruz, cowboy up.
