James Jones died shielding his mother from bullets meant for him, according to family members..
The 21-year-old and his mother, Alicia Jones, were on a porch in the 8400 block of South Colfax Avenue when a man approached from the gangway, gun in hand, and opened fire, police said.
"He used his body to shield her, to save her," said Dietra Luckett, Alicia Jones' sister.
After the shooting, Luckett said she went inside the home to find Larry Means, her brother-in-law, and bring him outside.
"He was in the bed, shaking," Luckett recalled.
Means, James Jones' stepfather, said he was saddened by the 21-year-old's death, adding that he worried for others in the home, including a 4-year-old.
"I'm just glad it wasn't my wife (who died)," Means said. "I'm just glad it wasn't my grandbaby, 'cause he was in the house too."(continued)

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. I’m guessing he meant “My son gave his life for his mom and my wife - I’m so glad it wasn’t given in vain”.
I don’t care if it is gang-bangers killing gang-bangers. It is still sad to see an entire society affected by this culture. The women of Chicago, Detroit, etc. should do like the women from various tribes in North Africa did. The women said “no more sex” until their husbands quit the tribal warfare. It worked.

But that would mean that the women would all have to agree and work together for this end. Iy seems that there is heavy competition for males among black female. Seriously, would you sleep with a guy who already had 5 kids with 5 other women? (If you were a woman, that is)
