Germans don’t think America stands for freedom anymore
WashPost ^ | 6-25-2015 | Adam Taylor

To many, America is synonymous with freedom. The country dubbed itself the "land of the free" and, when trying to reclaim sliced and fried potatoes from the French, briefly attempted to rename "French fries" as "freedom fries."

Yet America's global reputation for personal freedom has taken a beating over the last couple of years. Data from Pew Global Research suggests a dramatic fall in the number of people around the world who say the U.S. government respects the freedom of its people.

The issue may be most stark in Germany. Back in 2013, a whopping 81 percent of Germans polled by Pew thought that the U.S. government respected personal freedom. Then, in 2014, it was 58 percent. Now, according to figures released by Pew this week, just 43 percent of Germans think the U.S. government respects the freedom of its citizens. Fifty-three percent think it doesn't.

There are Americans(me included) who don’t think America stands for freedom anymore—at least this perverted, socialist travesty that *calls* itself “America”.

The thing about libs condemning anyone for being “judgemental” is that libs are always judging other people. Just go to any lib website i.e. DemUnderground and you will read the words of many judgmental libs and leftists.

It can only GET WORSE under Democrats so the lesser of two evils is still the best choice. IF the lesser of two evils begins to champion those who RESIST the Communism being forced down our throats, there is a chance. There are resistant people in the House and Senate already. A Few More and they can severely damage the Republican Elite or Establishment, whichever you wish to call it.
Resistance is having an effect already. Look at the reinstatement of Meadows .

The upcoming SCOTUS ruling on sodomite marriage might be used to crack down on home schooling here.

That’s okay. I don’t care if anyone calls me judgmental because I AM. It’s the only was to choose between wrong and right.

You are 100% correct. Of course, libs love to use the “don’t be judgmental” phrase as a ruse to shut down speech they don’t like.

What a stunning reason to attack Christians that would be.

Libs make war with words and ideas that intimidate people through their weaknesses. Most people are like cattle...they obey the “herd” instinct. I don’t. My parents taught me to think for myself and to stand my ground, regardless of the consequences. I don’t care what anyone wishes to call me in an attempt to intimidate me. It won’t work.

Hey Adam Taylor of the Washington Post - like the Germans, I don’t think the United States stands for freedom anymore. Not even freedom of the press.

Seems the press gives a damn about freedom of speech - - except for themselves - - which as we all know ISN’T freedom of speech - it’s ‘privilege’...

So Adam Taylor - run to one of your editors - some guy who gets his leads and storied from a democrat operative... Tell him not to pretend to ‘weight out the merits of accepting stories from democrat operatives... because that’s a joke. Admit to running gussied up press releases from one group.

If your newspaper was honest they would run with the following story -— and put it on the front page. But your editors are dependent on democrats to feed them and they’re afraid to stand up to their handlers... so it probably won’t happen.

So here it is Adam Taylor:

Reason.com speaks out on DOJ subpoenas for online commenter info, reveals wide net

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/06/23/doj-reason-subpoenas-gag-order/

New information released by Reason.com reveals that the Department of Justice cast an even wider net than previously thought when it demanded the libertarian news site provide information on its commenters.

After slapping Reason.com with a subpoena for IP and server information that would allow investigators to go after six readers, Reason says it was then ordered to stay quiet.

The Department of Justice claimed several comments on the site crossed the free-speech line. In a June 2 grand jury subpoena first obtained by Popehat’s Ken White, the government urged Reason to give up digital data on its commenters.

“The subpoena commands Reason to provide the grand jury any and all identifying information Reason has about participants in what the subpoena calls a ‘chat,’” White wrote.

Several readers posted on Reason.com about wanting to kill the federal judge who sentenced Ross Ulbricht, founder of online black market Silk Road, to life in prison.

Initially, it was thought that the government went after only the people whose comments constituted a threat.

However, with the government gag order now lifted, Reason says the subpoena also covered “obviously harmless comments as: ‘I hope there is a special place in hell reserved for that horrible woman,’ and ‘I’d prefer a hellish place on Earth to be reserved for her as well.’”

This didn’t happen because of Obama. This has been approved by the GOPe.

You are correct, but it happened on the Indonesian/kenyan's watch and the lax "security" of automated systems is his responsibility.

But it makes me wish that the Chicom hackers would release details on Boehner, McConnell, et.al., I'm sure they must have them.

Germany, the land where homeschooling is illegal.

We (Massachusetts/Horace Mann) imported Bismark's compulsory schooling model. We're not much different, although homeschooling is legal for the time being.
