Absolutely correct. The influence of the solicitor general’s position on the SCOTUS cannot be understated; and the continued stacking of the courts with dozens and dozens of ultra liberal judges with lifetime appointments will have an effect for more than a generation.
Fair enough. Maybe you can’t run for office, or go to meetings, or whatever. But you’re able to type and email and write. So make that kind of effort for a suitable candidate for state, local, or federal office.
If you can’t find one you like, try to recruit someone.
But calling for everyone to surrender and go live in a cave because politics is “rigged game” is pure horse manure. Everything’s “rigged.”
So adapt and improvise.

And you wrongly assumed I don’t. I have been politically active for many years. I have in the past been a published writer, columnist, have spoken in public at events (land use related) Even got ripped apart by Time magazine in an earth day issue for tanking a 6 figure deal with a search engine and an eco nut group. So I more than meet those qualifications.
I never once called for people to cave. In fact my extensive post history is all about NOT caving...to liberals...in either party.
Of course it’s rigged. Always has been. Not sure how I gave you the impression I thought it wasn’t. I have preached A&I for a long time now. Thats what my whole position is in dealing with liberals. Adapt to the fact that the GOP is liberal and overcome it through unified conservative action, not caving in to lesser evil assholery.
abb, you made a number of assumptions about people here who happen to be angry or cynical. I spent much of my adult life working for conservative candidates. I put in much more than my share of “doing something about it”, and I suspect the same holds true for many FReepers as well.

Joe Biden had the right idea in Iraq and we should do it here. Divide the country and relocate respective people to one or the other. If someone is a lib in the hated Jesusland or vice-versa, move willingly or don’t bitch. There is no way we are one country with a 50 50 split of polar opposites.
