GETTYSBURG (Reuters) - The U.S. National Park Service began removing Confederate flag merchandise from its bookstores and gift shops on Thursday, joining a nationwide push by lawmakers and retailers to remove the emblem, long associated with the fight to preserve slavery.
Kathy Kupper, a national parks spokeswoman, said she doesn't know how many parks had previously sold Confederate flag merchandise, but about 70 of the organization's 407 parks are related to the American Civil War.
“We strive to tell the complete story of America,” National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis said in a press release. “Any stand-alone depictions of Confederate flags have no place in park stores.”

It will be interesting to see if they rip out the pages of every book they sell about the battle of Gettysburg to eliminate references to the CSA....that is the next step.

What they really want is to remove any symbol or reference that ties the democrat party history of slavery, secession, the flags of the CSA and in fact the CSA itself as well as the KKK, Jim Crow, etc.
If they can wipe out history, they can claim no connections to any of their atrocities.
The question is... If we elected a Republican in 2016, would he order these put back on the shelf?

They are taking the confederate flag out of Gettysberg? How is that telling the complete story?
It ceases to be a city park at that point. They keep forgetting that it was given to the city on the condition that the bodies and name remain.
